Euro Motorspeed 1997-2002 Porsche 986 Boxster Factory Fit Custom Rear Speaker Kit

Installed this kit in my 2002 Boxster today. The instructions weren't quite complete but I did call the toll free # and they were able to answer my question regarding the brown connector for my CDR 220 stereo head. I did not use glue for the speaker grille installation. They fit perfectly without it. The rear speakers add so much sound to the car. They fill the entire interior with sound. Will test it again tomorrow top down :)

I bought this kit from this seller (at popular auction site - I had bonus points to spend). All the parts were included to install rear speakers in my 2002 Boxster. Note: These parts fit into the rear storage shelf (not included with this kit).You will receive four speakers mounted on two brackets (left and right), speaker wires, speaker grills, wire clips and a quick disconnect. Also included are the speaker wires that run from the speaker assembly to the back of the radio, wire ties, connector for the radio, and the special keys needed to pull the radio out from the dash. Of course instructions are included and I followed them kind-of closely.There are two basic steps. 1) mounting the speakers into the rear storage shelf and 2) running the wires from the rear speaker assembly to the radio. I took my time and did this is small steps. All together I spent about 5 hours on this project and it was worth my time and money.

I installed this package on my 2008 Boxster with the CDR24 Base Radio and the ASK amplifier (non-Bose). It took me about 8 hours over 2 days to do it. The speakers fit exactly along with the screens. Getting out the boxes was pretty easy. I ran the wires as instructed.. It took a little while to fish them through. To run them through the firewall to get to the ASK amplifier in the front trunk require me cutting a small hole in 2 grommets to the left of the battery. I cut them very small to ensure that there was a tight seal. The sound was improved in my opinion. Now when I have the top down I can hear the music better when driving. It seems to fill the cockpit with sound instead of having it all in the front. An improvement. There is not way to "fade" from to back on this set up but it still seemed to be an improvement. If you are handy and willing to work through the process it can be done. I had a Miata with speakers in the headrest. These sound better.One thing I did to connect the new speaker wires was to use the 3M splice connectors. That allowed me to connect to the ASK amplifier wiring without cutting the wires.. It might be helpful to supply 4 of them with the kit. Overall I am very satisfied.
