L.L. Bean Fly-Fishing Handbook

This was a very good introduction to fly fishing and/or review of fly fishing. This book was referenced by an instructor in a fly-fishing class. Although the instructor first came across it many years ago, it is still relevant and informative today.

Enjoyable read with nice illustrations etc. Good food for thought in several areas. May be the best choice among the similar options.

This book is an encyclopedia for a fly fisherman. Very succinct text, but with anything you need to know to get started or improve your technique or your equipment. Very helpful diagrams, photos, and tables in every chapter. Highly recommended for anyone interested in fly fishing--novice or near-expert.

Great book for beginners. Author does not talk "over you head". But great detail and practical instruction.

This is an excellent manual for beginners. It gives great information on the basics. I learned quite a bit and I have been trout fishing most of my life. I am new to fly fishing and will be referring to it mostly for the knot tying information, but also for the excellent illustrations on casting and fishing tactics.

Bought this for my son who is just starting to fly fish. It has a wealth of information a first timer or even a experienced fly fisherman will need. I highly recommend it.
