Thick socks with comfortable support
I bought these socks for walking on Dartmoor and need strong comfortable socks to use with walking boots. Previously I had just worn a pair (sometimes two pairs) of ordinary socks and this was my first time buying proper walking socks. I had no idea what to expect to be honest. The first thing about them was that I could immediately feel that they are thicker than ordinary socks. Not overly so to the point that they make getting your boots on and off a pain, but enough to offer a bit of comfortable cushioning all the way around your foot. The thicker material meant that my foot didn't rub inside my boots (which causes blisters) and also offered a nice softer feel when walking. The next thing is that they are quite elastic and really clung to my feet and gripped them as I walked. I noticed that my feet didn't move in these socks at all. The elasticity also supported my foot nicely - especially the arch of my foot. I could clearly feel the difference between the arch support in these socks and other ordinary socks. Although I do have to admit that, being used to just having ordinary socks on, at first, these ones felt a little tight on my calves (I do have large calves) but it didn't take long to get used to them and enjoy the extra support. The 'wicking effect ' of these socks works very well, after an afternoon walking my feet were bone dry - no sweaty feet - very welcome.I don't know if they helped relieve fatigue in my feet and wearing them certainly didn't make me feel that I could walk for miles more than usual, but they were definitely comfortable and kept my feet supported, comfortable and dry.Overall I would recommend these socks to walkers and hikers alike.

Great quality, excellent value
I ordered a 5-pack based on other reviews and have been very pleased.I used them in gore-tex lined walking shoes and boots, given they are not wool I expected my feet to get moist during a day's walk. I took a spare pair to change socks at lunchtime to minimize the risk of blisters. After spending a long weekend in the Lakes walking 8-10 hours a day I can report I found my feet remained dry and toasty warm all day with no per. I lent a pair to my wife who suffers from a mild form of hyperhidrosis, again in gore-tex boots. She found the same, certainly, her feet were a lot drier than normal.I plan to test these some more and if all goes well wear them on my 2019 coast to coast walk.

Waste of money
If it had been clear from the product description that these were Chinese, I'd have looked elsewhere. They were advertised as men's size 10, but it was a real struggle to get them on, and they were then stretched so tight that they provided no cushioning at all (I thought they were children's socks when I took them out of the bag). I wore them once, then passed them on to my wife. They fit her ok, but she's not keen on them either, none of the comfort you get from proper walking socks. You get what you pay for - in future I'll stick to my usual Berghaus socks.

This is a repeat buy for me - best recommendation I can give
These are socks and work perfectly well as socks.I use them on a day to day basis.I find them very comfortable, they are quite snug while putting them on but they settle pretty much immediarely. This is a repeat buy, I only do that if I like something. After nine months the previous set of five seem fine except for the black pair which appear to have thinned a bit, can't work out if I've been unconsciously over selecting them compared to the others.

Great for prolonged wearing
I'm not into hiking, trekking, walking or running (health prevents me even if I wanted to) but I do go on holiday. Travelling to a holiday can mean a lot of standing, so comfortable and supporting socks are a must. Generally, at home I wear cotton socks that you can buy in multipacks for a few pounds. The two pairs of socks came in one of those nifty zip up plastic bags. These bags are really useful for a multitude of uses. The socks are exactly like the sellers photos both in looks and colour. They look like their going to be too small but this is purely deceptive. They are well elasticated and very comfortable once on. There's little chance of them slipping both above the ankle or around the foot. There is a band of elastic around the centre of the foot that keeps it firmly in place. What I do like about these socks is that although they are firm gripping they don't leave much of an indentation in the skin. This is a common problem I find with elasticated socks like these. I'm glad to see they have improved on this as I find this can lead to irritation.Overall, these are nice comfy socks and great for prolonged wearing. The price is quite high to what I'm used to paying but in this case I feel it's worth it.

Bloody brilliantly comfortable
Oh my lord. Now I know what David Beckham must feel like every morning(minus the stick thin Mrs!!) these are awesome socks. I know, I know, they’re only socks. But these are great.

Glorious
These socks manage to be soft and cosy but also stay up and support your foot in all the right places. They are just the right amount of cushioned. Couldn't ask for a better pair of socks and that's before you consider the price of them! I've had worse quality Bridgedales at easily 4 times the price. Not sure about the colour of the beige pair but it's not going to stop me wearing them.

Really nice.
Used for long treks and rough hiking. Superb fit, and no rubbing. It's stretchy in all the right places and very comfortable. Very nice product.
