Not many wide strands
I should say first that I've never worked with raffia, but on average, the strands in these bundles don't seem very wide. They're a decent length (a bit over 1 m) but most are not as wide as the stands in the bundles pictured, and they seem to split apart along the length really easily, so you end up with a few wider strands and lots of medium and thin ones. Having read a bit about how raffia is made and packed, I'd probably invest a bit more and buy a 1 kg hank, where the ends are all neatly aligned, and which contains more of the wider strands. Considering you're only getting 100 g and you can get 1 kg with prime delivery for £15, this is not a very economical way of buying it.. If you only need a small amount, for simple tying jobs and you're not bothered about how wide the strands are, then this will be fine. I ideally wanted wider strips for horticultural/bonsai purposes (for example, wrapping trunks before wiring), and while I can use this, it's going to be more work than it would be with a better quality product. I didn't want to buy a huge amount right off, but in hindsight, that was probably false economy, as I think you'll usually get better quality (longer, thicker) strands in larger amounts. I don't know how well this would work for crafts like basket making, would not be optimistic. I don't think it's terrible quality, as have seen some bundles that contain only very thin strands, whereas this contains a mix, but I will be trying a different product next time. I've uploaded pics, so you can see how what I received compares to the pics in product description..

Perfect
Needed raffia for funeral flowers. Arrived promptly, good length, used it immediately on 6 funeral sprays to finish them off nicely. Thank you.

Environmentally friendly
Good value and a no brainer for tying plants to stakes, in my case mainly tomatoes. Being a natural fibre, it breaks down easily in the soil and is stronger than you would think.

Ok Rafferty
Was not as thick as would have like

Not great
This item is not great, the raffia had lots of weeds stuck in it and is quite discoloured in areas. Not really suitable to use all of it fir projects so quite a bit of wastage.

Raffia for garden produce
This was bought to tie up onions and garlic produce from our garden. We usually use string but wanted to give raffia a try. Seems to be working at the moment.
