No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green

This book has impacted me greatly. Even though I knew all of Keith's music and lyrics by heart, I had no idea of the EXTENT of his ministry in terms of missions and evangelism. What an incredible servant of God he was. Melody has carried his torch forward and preserved what is most important. The story is unique, true, amazing and tragic all at the same time. I was utterly absorbed in this book and I feel like it has the power to change the direction of one's life.

I have purchased 5 copies of this book and people have borrowed them and they are gone. I don't blame them as I promptly came here and ordered another. It has been said that it is too long a read. If you really liked Keith and want to see how he connected to Jesus Revolution, than it is worth getting the book and reading it.His widow Melody wrote this while still experiencing the loss of her husband, therefore she tried to write everything she could remember. Still, I thought it was an easy read and having heard him 3 times, this gave me great insight to is life in and out of music and ministry as well as Melody's place in it. If you want to really look back and experience Keth and Melody this book touches much of what they did in the short time before he was killed. His life was a comet but the results are as full as if he had lived to 80. He was an exemplary man and worth the time to read it.

This story tells the heart of a man who loved God and loved people. Especially the hippies that had been unwelcome in churches. God gave Keith the gift of singing and music. He was passionate. He was broken. He led others in worship. He welcomed people not only into his life but into his home and helped them get on their feet. He was involved in a movement that changed our Nation regarding Christianity. This was the first book I read when I decided to follow Jesus. It is life changing and inspiring.

A must read for everyone! This is an an awesome book, a true story told in a way that makes it inspiring for all ages -- not "religious" but about a journey to find meaning in life. It's a fast read, filled with photos and journal entries from a young man who is still remembered today after his death in 1982 at age 28 in a small plane accident. His 2 year old daughter and 3 year old son died with him. Keith Green is an icon in contemporary Christian music of the Jesus Movement -- and his wife tells their story, not trying to make either of them to look perfect, sharing struggles and temptations, just as Keith always did publicly. His music is listened to around the word today and his message unique: he did not want to be looked at as a "celebrity" even though people made him one. You will fall in love with the heart of Keith Green!

I loved this book.I was blessed to see Keith play and minister numerous times.I really enjoyed learning about their back round and how they came to the Lord.It was so fun to read about all the people he influenced and who influenced him. So many of the names were familiar.I learned so much about Keith and LDM.My daughter actually turned me on to this book. She grew up listening to Keith's music. I lived the best years of my life when Keith Green’s music first came out. I thought he must have lived a perfect sin free existence based on the truth of his music. Learning his struggles with sin and finding Jesus just endeared him more to me, but knowing he viewed himself a tool for God leads me to give credit to The Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Melody makes Keith’s life bare for all to see-and the end result is just such overwhelming gratitude for sharing their lives with us. I need to buy several copies to give away. I was blessed to see Keith live in concert, but his music has always been a part of my life and still is. No matter who you are or what is going on in your life, this is the one book you need to read right now. When I finished, I had such an overwhelming need to write a personal letter to Melody, to share how much God touched my life decades ago with Keith’s music and again now with the story of his life and death-this book feels like it is written individually to each person who reads it for exactly where they are in life right now. I don’t know how that’s possible, but I know with God, all things are.

Keith Green was a very interesting person. He came to Christ during the hippy era and new years of the charismatic renewal. With no formal teaching he had amazing discernment and insight into spiritual things for a young man "into music". He died an early accidental death and it makes a person wonder what he might have been had the Lord seen fit to leave him here a little longer.

The cover is very well crafted, and binding strong and secure! An easy read and a great book all around!

I'm so grateful for the legacy this man left. I listened to the book and purchased a physical copy to lend to those who don't like listening to books. Melody did such a great job writing about so many things that must be so painful for her and yet have blessed so many. Great takeaways from a live of a new believer who was on the spotlight. Read it!

Like all of us, Keith was not a perfect man but he loved the Almighty Perfect God and Creator 'perfectly' as Jesus has asked us all so to do...with ALL our heart, soul, mind and strength..and to love our neighbors as ourselves!This is the 'simple gospel'. Keith believed, received 'new birth' and then, speaking the Truth in love, he shared it's urgent message with zealand intensity whilst living it out daily in the strength of and dependency on the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit! I highly recommend this book as both a much needed and powerful 'wake up call' and refreshing for all who are called by HIS GREAT NAME as well as an imperative 'herald' to 'all those beloved of God' who have yet to 'come and see this MAN Who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?

Eine wirklich gute Biografie eines außerordentlich Menschen, der sich nicht mit Halbwahrheiten, "Halben-Herzen" und Kompromissen zufrieden gab, und deswegen fast permanent irgendwo aneckte. Und sich nicht stoppen ließ! Ein Mensch, der Ideale vor Augen hatte und nicht nach dem "menschenmöglichen" oder "eh ganz Guten" strebte, sondern nach dem best-möglichen! Ein Mensch voller Ecken, Kanten und Fehler, der von Gott aus dem größten Dreck gezogen wurde und der dann durch seine Hingabe, Liebe und seinen Glauben an eben diesen immer mehr seine Fähigkeiten und Talente, für Jesus einsetzen konnte und wollte, und ein Mensch, der immer mehr Frieden und Freude in Gott fand und immer mehr sehen konnte, wie unvergleichbar wunderbar Gottes Geschenk für die ist, die es annehmen. Sehr herausfordernd und motivierend!

Bonjour, j'ai acheté ce livre à défaut de la version francaise qui n'existe plus, c'est d'une tritesse, ce livre est génial ! J'ai un peu de mal à le lire en anglais mais au moins je l'ai dans ma biblio.
