Great replacement blade for old Freud Biscuit Cutter
This blade was much better than the original Freud Biscuit Cutter blade. Cuts so much better. Now I use the cutter more often since it cuts better than when I first purchased the Freud Biscuit Cutter. Great blade. Cuts smooth with no bogging down or burning.

Thinner than O.E.M. blade.
Freud makes great products we all know that. This blade cuts just like it should. Unfortunately, it is not an exact replacement for the blade that came in the Porter Cable plate joiner. It is thinner on the body, the cutters are the right size for the biscuits. Due to the plate being thinner I needed to modify the plate joiner arbor bushing by grinding it to allow it to tighten down enough to hold the blade tightly.

Great blade and upgrade for the Porter Cable 557
You will need to make a spacer washer for the Porter Cable. I used a brass (easy to drill) washer and drilled it to size. This blade cuts like no other. The original Porter Cable blade would burn certain woods even when new and always left a small burr on the exit cut side. This blade cuts smother, doesn't leave a frayed corner on the exit cut side and plunges with no effort, much better than stock.

This is a joke, right? Where's the punch line, Porter Cable?
Ordered it yesterday and it came today (thanks Prime). It's going on my Porter Cable 557 biscuit jointer (I have the version 2).Like others have already mentioned, the Freud blade is just a smudge thinner than the PC blade. I just used an air grinder to take about 1/128th off the shaft. Took longer for my air compressor to fill up than it did to knock off the edge. Quick, simple, and I was done. So, with the new Freud on, I tried cutting on a piece of maple. Man, does it cut nice! And I know it's not just a matter of my PC blade being dull as prior to putting on the Freud, I had put on, for the first time, my new 2" Porter Cable blade (which came with the 557) and it was just as hard to cut with as the 4" P.C. blade. So come on Porter Cable... where's the phone call / email / written letter telling us "April Fool's... we were joking with our oem blade and the new one is in the mail."Buy this Freud, NOW!

Quality replacement blade.
Good fit for DeWalt biscuit slot cutter. Extra teeth over stock blade decreases cutting effort. Might be slightly generous with tolerance for biscuits, but not to a significant degree. Would recommend.

Excellent
