Outstanding product
I had a heavy old Hoover that I replaced with this. I thought the Hoover did a good job but it was tough for me to work with. Just before unpacking my new Shark, I vacuumed my living room with the old vac. Then I used the new vacuum and was mortified to have picked up so much more dirt. I had no idea my carpets were so bad! This is light weight, and because I'm disabled, it's difficult for me to bend over - all of the basic controls for this vac are at a perfect height to avoid bending. My only dislike about this vac is the cord - an auto wrap would be nice, and it's just a little bit shorter than my old vac cord. But I definitely recommend it.

The contractor shop vac of house vaccums
Immediately impressed. With 2 small children, four dogs and a cat, this thing pulled stuff out of my carpet I haven't seen in years. Big dirt tank, long cord and swivel head are nice bonuses, and my son went to cover his ears when I first started it, then uncovered them and said "oh. This vaccum not loud." Hope to get a lot of years of use out of this one.

Basic but very powerful vacuum with a huge dust container
Shark generally makes good vacuums but they make a huge selection from very basic to fancy with lots of features, many which you may never use. This vacuum specializes in vacuuming pet hair and holding a lot in it's "dust cup". They claim it's lightweight at 16 pounds, but it's definitely not the lightest upright vacuum I've ever used. For example, my previous Shark upright weighed in at 13 pounds and feels a lot lighter than this one. However, aside from lifting it up and down stairs, it's not hard to push around at all, thanks to a very powerful motor that makes it easy to push on both floor and carpet. This model may not have lift away and some other features found on other Shark uprights, but what it does have is power and a long hose. They claim a 12 foot reach, but that's the absolute max when you include the aluminum pole. It does extend to reach up into normal height ceilings fairly easily and I was able to get cobwebs way up in the corner quickly by just detaching the metal pole and holding the handle up. There are 2 attachments included, crevice tool and the small brush for upholstery that are also useful when you detach the handle from the pole.Main features I liked include the 2 position power switch which selects between hard wood and carpet. If the brush roll jams, the light turns from green to red and if you just stop it and start again it usually fixes it. For lightweight rugs, I was able to open the little valve at the top near the handle which reduces suction because this thing really sucks hard. The motor is very powerful and vacuuming dense pet hair is not a problem at all for this vacuum. I was very impressed and my old Shark isn't even close to this powerful when it comes to pet hair, even though it's technically a "better" model. Personally, I'd rather have the power and the large dust container than features I never use. The power brush is pretty cool with edges and the swivel makes it easy to go around corners and under tables and furniture.Emptying the dust bin is easy, and I am doing it a lot less than in the past because of how big it is. Speaking of the dust container, like all their vacuums, it's see through and looks great until you start using it. Then it's constantly filled with dust and doesn't look great. At least they tinted the plastic grey so it's not as noticeable but I'd rather have it be a solid color with a clear area on the side to see how full it is. Not a big deal, all vacuums these days seems to use the clear dust compartment which looks amazing in the store but not at home.Overall, I really can't say enough good things about this vacuum, especially at this price point. I have paid so much more for worse vacuums over the years. Sharks last a long time and are reliable. Personally, I think they are underrated when it comes to a workhorse vacuum that gets the job done and doesn't lose suction over time. This model is great for people who vacuum very messy areas or have pets that shed a lot. It's big and heavy but it gets the job done and if you are able to use it on one floor, it's perfect unless you are ok lifting a 16 pound vacuum up and down stairs. Great vacuum, a lot better than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty good.

It’s crap!!
piece of garage!!First off it smells like a dirty ash tray (maybe I was sent a used one)Second the brush roller completely froze up. There is nothing in the way and the belt is fine.Didn’t even have it 3 months. Of course can’t return it because my return window is closed. Hopefully Shark will help me.

Pet Shark Plus
I just bought this and have only used it once. We had a house fire and have brand new carpet I used the Pet Shark Plu on my new carpet and it worked pretty good. I have very thick carpet. I love how much suckion power it had to get so much off the carpet from access fluff from new carpet. It moves well only draw back for me is the cord isn't long enough. I like the style and the ease of working the vacuum. I also have a lift away but like this one better. It is easier for me to use a stand up. Like the design. Good vacuum.

Great vacuum!
This is a great vacuum! Most of my house is tile, with one room having carpet. It works great in both types of floors. The dust bin is huge and I can usually vacuum the whole house without emptying the bin part way through. It maneuvers super easily, so much so that it takes a bit of using to get used to it so you don’t smash into walls! A longer cord would be great, but it’s fine the way it is. The suction is great and doesn’t seem to get clogged with all the dog hair we vacuum up! We have a very hairy Australian Shepherd who sheds a ton! I agree with others who say the clear dust bid looks beautiful when it’s brand new but looks yucky after using it. I’m going to try wiping it out with a dryer sheet as some have said. But overall I’m very happy with this vacuum!
