I thought this unit offered great value and features for the price and was looking forward to installing it in my 2010 Prius. Only one major snag, the clip-on brackets that were to hold the HDVR-180G3 were to short to hold onto my existing mirror. The mirror in my 2010 Prius is very thick, as it has some extra hardware inside (garage door wireless transceivers and home appliance WIFI capabilities. This made my mirror very thick and the ABEO expanding brackets would only open about half way and as a result the ABEO would not mount over my existing. I explained this problem to the company, as I think new cars are equipped with these thicker mirror by default and suggested they offer a unit with larger, deeper brackets.

I've been looking for a great dash camera for a long time and came across this product. I was actually looking for something that I didn't have to worry taking it off when I'm not driving. This product is great because it simply looks like a rear-view mirror and you don't have to worry about thieves stealing it. The quality of the footage is great and memory card slot is very easy to access (it's located on the top). Also, it is very easy to install and uninstall the product on the rear-view mirror. One thing I regret before purchasing this product would be doing more research about the size of my vehicle's rear-view mirror and what the camera would be staring when it's mounted on. I drive a Chevy Tahoe and my rear-view mirror is huge and something is blocking the vision of the camera (inside the 2015 tahoe, front of the rear-view mirror there's a huge box looking material on the windshield). However, later I found out that you could actually adjust the camera angle without moving your rear-view mirror. I strongly recommend this product!!

And couple of issues here and the balance between the pros and cons depend on your expectations: if you want a set and forget camera only system then you may want to look elsewhere as this system comes with several features that beg to be enabled like the shock sensor. The downside of this is now the camera will start to lock video files and eventually fill up the memory. The only way to clear the SD card seems to be by removing it and review it on a laptop then format the chip. Another problem, the unit does not come with a ON/OFF button. It is completely reliant on the cigarette lighter. No problem until the system choaks and requires restarting in order to restart recording while driving. A few cons but all that is offset by the outstanding video quality of the camera. License plates and faces are easily recognizable even at dusk. There are newer models out there from abeo.com.

For the price this is a good deal. Has all the bells and whistles you would want. Little difficulty attaching device to mirror. For my car fitting was fairly okay but it was another story with my wife's car. Her mirror is quite big. After trying for about 10 minutes one of the two attachment pieces became useless after its spring broke. Was made useable with judicious use of tape. The main disappointment was that the viewing screen was very small. You really can't see what's on it unless is right in front of your face. Keep a watch on the price of this thing. It seems to go up and down a lot.

It is a good product, the video quality was amazing. Unfortunately the product overall did not work out for me. The way how it is mounted on the existing mirror works best when you have a mirror that does not have a rounded back. Mine was rounded, so the mounting brackets did not form a strong connection which caused the mirror to vibrate like crazy when I was driving. I was not able to see a thing, which was a huge safety concern. I wish it would come with different mounting brackets...

Excellent product. Works as described. I had to change only the SD card from 4 GB to 32GB. When the SD card space is full, only the old video files are deleted, the still photos in JPG format are not deleted. So I turned off the setting for taking still pictures. The Bulit-in driving safe mode (LDWS & FCWS) were causing too many beeps, so I turned them off. It is very good product for the price.

What I ordered and what actually came in the package was two very different models. Which I think is part of why our experience was so poor with this product. Honestly, when it worked, it was a 5 start product. It fits over the rearview mirror perfectly, the video was very clear, even at night, and it was solid. However, if it got chilly at all, it wouldn't work. No matter how long we would wait to warm it up. The video randomly stopped working and it just wasn't working for us anymore. Which was very disappointing as this was a Valentines Day gift for my boyfriend that we, unfortunately, had to return.

This camera works very well but this is my first one. Cord was plenty long enough to reach the lighter. I have a mercury grand marquis. The original mirror on this car is thick but the camera holds on it without any noticeable shaking
