I bought these hoping to use them for writing down dreams in the middle of the night without waking my wife. They are much too bright for that, like a magnesium flare. So, I wanted to return them, but discovered they are unreturnable. Apparently because of the batteries.On the plus side, they're comfortable in the hand, and have 2 modes, so you can use them as regular pens or as flashlights.UPDATE: I'm changing my review to 4 stars. The white version of this pen is still too bright for dream journaling, but after I posted my review, the seller contacted me and offered to send me a replacement with a different color. They sent the blue, which is quite nice at night time, and also a different one that is kind of yellow, and also nicely dimmer than the white. I'm not sure what color that one is, as I don't see it as one of the buyable variations. But they were very responsive and friendly, so A+ on customer service.

I was so excited to get these extremely novel pens. They arrived quickly and were exactly what I expected. One of the pens was damaged during shipping so I contacted their customer support. It was by far one of the most pleasant and responsive customer service experiences I've ever had. They were quick to respond, extremely understanding, and prompt. I even received a handwritten letter with my replacement product! Great company and product!

This pen helps me sleep better! No kidding! I often think of things in the middle of the night, and worry that I'll forget by the next morning. I keep one of these in my nightstand so I can write things down when I think of them, and then I don't have to worry about forgetting it -- so I can fall back to sleep. The only thing I don't like, is you have to click the pen three times to get the light to come on. Wish it came on the first time you clicked the pen to open it. But overall, these are great.

On the plus side the design seems for the most part to be well thought out. Since the light is turned on by pushing the top of the pen, it comes with a removable plastic cap that can be installed for times when you don't want the light to come on accidentally, such as when throwing it in a suitcase or briefcase while travelling. There are also two extra refills for each pen and an extra battery pack for each one. They also include a neat little flyer that asks you to give a good review if you like the product with the other side asking you to email them directly if you don't like the product for any reason.The not so good side is the way it's packaged for starters. The little bag is too small for everything that is in it, and upon opening it the first thing that will happen is that the extra refills will fall out. Mine fell out, along with both xtra battery packs into the waste basket. Fortunately I had just emptied the waste so had no problem retrieving what I needed. The refills are so small as are the battery packs, it would have been easy to miss them since there wasn't anything telling me how many were included. The pens and instructions were a little more difficult to remove. Unfortunately the instructions are so small they are hard to read without a magnifying glass.My only real complaint is the method of turning on the light. The first two times you click the pen you extend and retract the writing portion. The third and fourth clicks will do the same with the writing light. The problem is, this is designed to be used at night, and having to click the pen three times to turn on the light to use is could be disturbing to your sleeping partner.While I like the pens, and they do work, I would recommend looking for something a little better conceived and packaged, especially if you are thinking of giving these as a gift to someone else. If I did give it as a gift I would make sure the recipient knew about the small parts that would fall out of the bag, and the difficulty of removing the pens. A little better packaging would make this a 4 star item and a better way to light the tip would add the fifth star. Even putting the four refills in a small envelope with a flap would help.As an addendum to my review, The company contacted me and offered to send me another, perhaps newer, version of the pen which I declined. To me this speaks more about the quality of the company than anything else. They are seriously committed to their 100% satisfied guarantee because they really value their customers. Since both pens I have work, and I didn't lose anything in the process of opening, I can't in good conscience ask them to send another pen at their expense which would only serve to reduce their profit. I would say their customer service and their customer care makes them a 5 star company, despite the difficulties I had initially with the packaging. If you do order from them, they will guarantee 100% satisfaction.

I got these pens for writing at night and after using them a few times, I really like them. I was worried the ink and ball point would not be very smooth, since often products will be of less quality in one feature to have the other quality, such as lights in this case. I've had some pretty crappy ball point pens before that bleed and write terribly. These are not like that. The writing is smooth, the ink flow is not too much or too little, and it's easy to write with. I am surprised how nice they are to write with and I love that about them.The lights are also great. The blue one can be a little too bright when I'm tired, so the red is much softer and nicer. However, on other days the blue light is fine. Also, it doesn't actually look blue, it's just referring to the warmth factor of the light. It's a cool light vs. a yellow warm light like the red.Some people are saying that the clicking sound the pen makes is too loud. I don't find the sound any louder than a regular clicking pen. I've heard louder clicking pens than this.The only minor issue was a battery was corroded in one of the pens. I replaced it with a backup and it works fine. Both pens work great. I contacted customer service and they're going to send me another battery since I already had to get into the backup packs. They are very quick to respond, polite and friendly. To be honest, I know these kinds of products can have these kinds of issues, it's just the nature of this kind of stuff, and that's the main reason I bought these pens vs. others. Because other reviewers said how amazing the customer service is. Life isn't perfect, but when people are nice and accountable, that means everything to me.So if you have similar values, this company is great. And the pens are too.

Very good product overall... Could be alil' stronger or more substantial structure, for patrol applications... Writes well & illuminates the writing area very well... Highly recommend for Law Enforcement applications...

Pens work well, 1 arrived with flat batteries which I had to swap out for the spares that came in the pack. Ironic since I selected this pack based on the extra batteries and nib refills but now I'm one set of batteries down now so not ideal.

I use this to check IDs of a night and write the details. It works very well in this and it comes with spare batteries to boot.

I live everything about these and will by again I’m sure!!

I use these to write at night in bed without waking up my partner, especially the red one works really well for this. The spare batteries didn't work when I went to replace them in one of pens but I asked for some replacement batteries and they seller sent me some new ones as well as some extra pens. Great service!
