So far so good but would really like a adapter to make it take a 1 inch chuck. Any know where?

Power Wood Turning Lathe
Packing and shipping was great. The piece is very heavy so be prepared to have something to help you move the box. The appearance of the lathe is great. It was given as a Christmas gift so I haven't had any comments from the person it was given to. He was very happy with it, when he opened it.

Not bad for the price
Not bad but you get what you pay for. turned a couple of thing on it and had fun doing it. The face plate broke day one and now I am having problems finding a new one. The seller won't get back to me on the size of the face plate. The manual is useless.

Great took for the money.
Large capacity, easily adjustable speeds. Good quality. I turned 6x6 cedar blocks for large chess set. Excellent value for a sturdy bench lathe.

It was easy to set up and it arrived earlier than expected
I bought this as a gift for my son on his 14th Birthday. He has since made several baseball bats and absolutely loves it. It was easy to set up and it arrived earlier than expected.

Don't waste your time!
I only needed a lathe to turn one project so cheapness was a factor. Since the specs said it had #1 morse tapers I took that as a bonus and thought when done with my project I could turn pens if I'm bored. The specs are false! This lathe DOES NOT HAVE morse tapers rendering it useless. It uses a solid threaded shaft on the headstock with an unknown and very uncommon thread pitch. On a guess it's around a 5/8 8 tpi but I'm not going to waste my time figuring it out.Now as far as a one time throw away item. A little tweaking on the headstock (loosing the 4 bolts on the front bearing plate and removing the pulley and loosing the 4 bolts on the rear bearing plate) you can line up the head/tail stocks. It will turn items fairly decently. The item I needed to turn is a solid piece of 16" x 5" oak. It survived that. The only reason I give it such a bad rating is the specs are false and to me that's misleading if not outright lying to the consumer.

BE CAREFUL OF JUST WHAT YOU WANT
THIS RIG HAS MANY THINGS LEFT OUT. THE SPINDLE IS ODD SIZED. SOME WHERE AROUND 11/16'' ONLY IN METRIC. NO WHERE TO BUY PARTS TO CHANGE TO REGULAR DEC. . THE TAIL STAND CAN NOT BE CHANGED IT IS SOLID WITH A BEARING ON THE CENTER POINT ONLY. THE MACHINE CAN BE USED BUT THERE ARE MANY RESTRICTIONS. THERE IS ONLY ONE THIN FACE PLATE AND IT IS 5 INCH DIA. THEY NEED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION WHERE TO BUY AN ADAPTER FOR THE SPINDLE TO CHANGE TO 1 INCH SO YOU CAN USE REGULAR CHUCKS AND FACE PLATES. THE MACH. MAKES SPINDLE WORK OK BUT HARD TO MAKE BOWLS BECAUSE OF THE LARGE FACE PLATE. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SPACERS TO GET PAST SCREW HOLES. IT'S CHEAP ENOUGH BUT BE PREPARED TO NEED INPUT TO BUY MORE PARTS TO MAKE WORK EASY. I COULD NOT FIND ANY INFO. OF WHERE TO DO THIS.
