My 2 year-old's new favorite book
I bought this title for my son's 2nd birthday, knowing he would love it. Before getting this, his favorite book was Rotraut Susanne Berner's "In Town All Year 'Round" In the Town All Year 'Round , which has lots of great seek-and-find elements. His love of all things that GO (cars, trucks, busses, and especially trains!) made this book a no-brainer.I was not disappointed! We look through it every night before bed. Some nights he even wants to sleep with it.This book works on so many levels. The colors are bright and saturated, so the book begs to be looked at. The illustrations are a lot of fun and since there is so much going on, there is something new and funny to see each time you open it.One of the strongest selling points for me is that I can imagine my son enjoying this book in many different ways for years to come. There is a bit of a journey that happens, so it could read as a story, where the child or caregiver uses visual clues to provide more narrative. For the younger set who have shorter attention spans, it works as a seek-and-find, which I have found helps to build vocabulary and patience. And in addition to the busy seek-and-find pages, there are pages that offer a fun cross section highlighting the layout of a motor home, or label the parts on a certain type of vehicle.

Cheap paper
My car loving toddler tore this to shreds in no time. I wish it would have been printed on better paper, I don't mind a little tape here and there but this was beyond repair in a few days. The book itself was a hit so it's a shame.

Fun and educational
Our three year old son loves this book... and the air and sea books too. The book is large, fun, chock full of colorful, detailed pictures, and even educational. Unlike a Miffy book or the "Book without Pictures", you definitely feel like you got your "money's worth" with this one.

Hits on a lot of levels
I bought this book as a holiday gift for my very good friends with 2 and a half year old twin daughters. The book is currently perfect for both of them and I believe will continue to be so for another few years. The two girls are both very different types of readers- one memorizes the words on a page and then "reads" them back, one is normally distracted during book time and prefers jumping around and being active, but (two months after purchase) both of them LOVE this book and can be kept attentive for quite some time with it.The premise is simple- a story of a boy learning about all the different modes of transportation on land. And "all" means ALL- a huge range. The pages filled with twenty or thirty different types of trucks or cars or trains really capture their attention (the question "Which is your favorite?" is a go-to one). There is a ton of visual imagery and the story is very sweet- both of which keeps both girls interested. Right now, the "technical" pages that go into the various parts of a car or motorcycle or an RV are a little over their heads, but that's why this book should continue to be a great bedtime read even as they get older. This is the kind of book I would have pored over as a kid and I'm glad to see that times have changed, but kids haven't. I highly recommend this book.

Very Engaging--Not Great for Wind Down Time
My two-year-old son loves this book. The vivid illustrations are funny and engaging. We spend several minutes examining each page with him asking what the different vehicles are called. I also take turns asking him to name the cement mixer, travel trailer, etc. While we enjoy reading this book together, it is not the best for bedtime. He becomes very active pointing out the various vehicles and laughing at the funny side stories. When we try to read this during wind down time, he gets very animated. This is a great book to read when you want your child really engaged with the story. Probably best to read during afternoon play time, rather than when you're trying to lull your little one to sleep.

awesome
My boys love this book! It's not much of a story book, but it is captivating because of the pictures. They are constantly pulling it out and staring at it. And their new favorite thing is "I spy" with this. If your kids like vehicles, I highly recommend this.

He loved the pictures and we would spend tons of time ...
I first got this book when my son was two and a half. He loved the pictures and we would spend tons of time pointing and finding fun things in the book. Now at almost five we spent over fourth minutes finding all the numbers hidden in the book. This is one of the only books that has consistently held his attention throught the years

Wonderful Kids Book
I spotted this book on the internet and was pleased to see it for sale on Amazon. The art work is wonderful, with most pages being double page full spreads. There is a lot going on in the pictures so it really holds my son's interest. Near the end is a gate fold section to really wow. If you have a child who is into vehicles, this will surely please.
