Vibrant health!
I really enjoyed this book- it’s packed with plenty of useful tips and tricks to shop on a budget and create delicious and healthy meals. The author also includes his personal stories and opinions which I think is awesome. It feels like talking to a friend who gives you certain tips to follow that he himself is doing as well. No preaching in this book.He also knows the real essence of nutrition, something that I have also noticed after reading other books that he published here on Amazon , that are related to nutrition and fitness. I am a big fan of healthy carbs: quiona, millet, brown rice and I also agree that way too many people react to nutrition fads instead of doing their own thinking. I am already familiarized with the eating style that is promoted here in this book, if it wasn’t for fish I would be vegan! If you are a fan of Wikipedia style books, then this one may not be for you.If you like to laugh and have fun when you read- then this is an excellent choice. The book is full volume, like 140 pages, and only 99cents- another thing I was happy about.Compare it to low-quality 20 pages booklets that all look the same and are 2.99…do the maths yourself!

Good advice and tips
This book has a little of everything in regards to food: good sources of macros, what to shop for, recipes, etc. The author seems to recommend a high carb diet, which works well for quite a few people. But this will definitely not apply to everybody….so people will want higher fat and others others higher protein. The book is written in a nice conversational tone and is an easy read. Good information for people looking to save money and still eat healthy. Check it out.

The REAL Deal On Healthy Eating!
Healthy Eating On A Budget is a uniquely written, in-your-face book that truly doesn't need scientific backing to validate Dexter's "real" words.TRUST ME...As a nutritionist, and like Dexter, writes all my books with the oceans of practical facts copulated over the years, the take-action information this author delivers WILL make you a better you. That's what it's all about isn't it??Now I'm not gonna pull a Pinocchio, and tell you I agree with, and am head over heels in love with everything this "maybe-soon-to-be fireman" says, but I respect his opinion and can learn from it.In my opinion this book is a teeny-tiny piece of what health and wellness writing is all about. Getting the "REAL" scoop from someone that's not a wuss when it comes to calling a spade a spade is refreshing. Someone that doesn't hide behind what they "think" society expects of them, and most definitely doesn't join the bandwagon of conformity just because. This book is so much more than learned expert solutions for eating healthy on little coin.I recommend you turn your "easily offended" switch to "off." Read this book front to back. Then read it again between the lines, and let this fantabulously talented writer and person read your positive thoughts! (Translation - Leave him a positive review)Dexter, just don't ever stop being you!

Bad writing. Stick to the food. Somewhat helpful.
Recipes start on page 141. The recipes are smoothies for another 15 pages. He is great at writing about food! Too bad he felt the need to talk about how he worked on a wind farm for 12 pages and then at the end of his pointless story proclaimed he was stopping himself short of rambling. Whoever was the editor of this book....was probably the same person as his PR agent because it was like reading one long facebook status. Painful. Though I agreed with pretty much all of his ideas about food. Simple, to the point and helpful tips about food. I think he should write 4 different books and advertise accordingly. Give more recipes you can pair with veggies and brown rice, less smoothies and less facebook updates about how hard you worked when you were 14. We get it. You're a GREAT guy.

You get more than what this book promised to deliver;)
Absolutely loving this book, as you can get so much out of it. First, of course, this book shares some really good strategies on how to save money while eating healthy. A good part of it is a mind game, which means you know what you want and be disciplined enough to just go for what you need instead of being sidetracked by other unnecessary groceries like processed foods. Besides, this book also shares some nutritional 101 lessons, healthy recipes, and externally resources like YouTube videos and bonus chapters to further your knowledge on healthy eating on a budget. It's definitely worth your buck with the amount of knowledge you will get from this book!

Unorganized and needs help with commas
Lots of good ideas, but completely unorganized--and the author even admins that he just lets ideas tumble from his head with no outline. Great for first drafts, but not a final piece. I wish he'd had an editor help him out in cutting the gristle, organizing, and adding some much-needed commas. I honestly couldn't get past page 3.

A lesson on healthy, economical eating!
Author Dexter Poin displays his young personality by being himself in his writing style. He is honest and, at the same time, funny. All my life, I have been eating healthy foods. Most of them are the ones the author mentioned, and I notice the difference how my body and skin looks for my age. I am happy to know he has come up with a list of healthy and economical foods, based on his life experience that can be a learning lesson for many people who are living an unhealthy life style. Truly enjoyed it!Reviewed by Mary Ann Vitale, author of the award-winning book, The Water Lily Fairy.

Very disappointing book. Little, and poor content
Very disappointing book. Very few recipes, mostly blueberry smoothies and quinoa recipe (18 quinoa recipes), all are vegan recipes, hardly any protein to balance blood sugar, albeit they are fruit sugars. Huge type, in double line spacing which makes it a very small book in essence, and poorly laid out. As a Nutritional Therapist I thought this might be good to recommend to my clients, but it won't be making it on to my bookshelf sadly, or anywhere near it. All of the pictures are in black and white, except the front cover. I was really hoping that this would be good, but I feel a bit cheated out of my money to be honest. A total waste of money.

"Just because you are broke doesn’t mean that you have to eat badly"
The information in this book is really of great value to anyone in general, not just people who are living on a budget. The author definitely has a way with words and can venture off into other realms that may have you think you are reading another book. But in the end all of the stories and humour all ties into the points that he is trying to get across.Dexter does also have YouTube videos where he discusses issues relating to this book. It’s clear that he is a normal down to earth guy.... With a musical edge by all accounts :-) . I will watch out for more of his books as I found this writing style very entertaining. All in all, this is not a book on how to eat cheap, it’s about how to eat healthy on a budget and this is cheaper than most people would believe before reading this book.A quote from the book outlines what most people in my experience automatically decide when it comes to eating a healthy diet when they are struggling with their income:“Just because you are broke doesn’t mean that you have to eat badly”And this statement is proven to be true

Straight forward and makes sense.
This read more as a conversation that I was having with a friend rather than a guide book. There is a lot more in here than just learning how to eat healthy while living on a budget. Definitely worth checking out.

Don't waste your money.
I was very disappointed with this book. There is almost no recipes in it for full meals. There is several pages of smoothy recipes and a few others but 3/4 of the book is taken up with talking about what you need not what you want. For the price of the book ($26 for me in Canada with tax) it does not in anyway serve the purpose of showing you how to cook healthy food on a budget (and the fact the the recipes are right at the end of the book doesn't help either). I am returning this to Amazon as not fit for purpose (and I have NEVER done that in the many years I've been buying cook books - or any books for that matter).
