The Best I've Found
Looking to replace our old Peltor Tactical 7 Classics I have recently bought a set of these Supreme Pro Xs and a set of 3M Peltor TacticalPros. These are the clear winner between the two, though the TacticalPros aren't too shabby while being about eighty five dollars cheaper. The winning margin comes from the natural quality of the sound in these Supreme Pro Xs. The Peltor TacticalPros surprisingly have worse sound quality than the many years old Tatical 7s we have. They have some white noise and they under-amplify the lower frequencies. With these Supreme Pro Xs I feel like I am in the here and now, while with the TacticalPros I feel like I'm somewhat removed. Funny how sound can have that effect, but it does. The lower noise reduction rating on these doesn't make any difference to me. With all ear muffs I also wear a pair of Etymotic Research ER20XS-SMF-P High-Fidelity Earplugs if shooting indoors, and these are fine without double protection when shooting outdoors. So no difference to me between the protection provided by these or the Peltors.I have seen some folks express concern with changing batteries in these Pro Xs so one of the first things I did was put in then take out the batteries. I didn't have any problem. A jolt or two brought down the "hidden" battery. (If you get a pair this should make sense.)

Buy them now if you shoot
Great ear pro! I waited to write this review until I could try them indoors, outdoors, and during competition. These are by far the best ear pro I've ever owned and thus far worth the price. I have had the peltor 6s, Howard Leight impact pro, and numerous non-electronic muffs. If on a fixed budget get the Impact pros. However I suggest you not wait until you damage your ears like I did to finally pull the trigger on buying these. For me, these really won me over with the quality and the gel cups. I need to shoot with my corrective lenses on and my glasses push out on the cups a good deal. The gel cups provide a much better deal than any other kind I've tried. If the price tag is a no go for some one slightly cheaper alternative that you can still get the gel cup on is the Peltor 6s or pro series. For my back up I ordered gel cup replacements for my Peltors and they are a worthwhile upgrade for sure. Sorry for the lengthy review but for this kind of money I figured folks would appreciate this level and amount of info.

Should be mandatory for shooters.
Bought these for shooting after trying out a buddies older set. Fantastic! I usually wear Surefire's and if it's windy, muffs over those (gives me vertigo if I don't, take care of your ears boys and girls). These easily take gun shots down to well under 100dB (The largest cal i've used with them is 30/30). We had some guys in UTV's come up behind us on the trail, about 20 yards away, it drowned out the sound of the UTV's and I could hear their conversation like they were standing with our group. Nice fit, light weight, not too sweaty and the gels are great for fit and keeping wind out.Are they expensive? Yes. Is your hearing worth it? After decades of loud engines, drag races, loud tools, concerts and guns, yes, it's worth saving it.FYI, if you're looking for regular use earplugs for everyday stuff and concerts, NBA, Etymotic ER20.

Superior quality, comfortable at the range (need plugs too for indoor)
I like this product, I don't know if it is worth what i paid, but I shoot so often as long as it remains durable, it is much more comfortable over any other headset.Indoor shooting always needs plugs as well for my sensitive ears, but I use these to amplify ambient sounds and voices to make communication better. Also, since I wear a hat and safety glasses, the seal is obstructed, so plugs are especially necessary. The seal is better than with hat glasses and the cheaper $40 electronic headphones

Not "New"
Very comfortable, and excellent ear protection-- BUT, the audio jack input was defective. Plugged in my phone and listened to some music to test it. The volume was so incredibly low I could barely hear it, and the volume buttons didn't affect it at all. I called the manufacturer and they said that wasn't normal, they then asked me to remove the gel ear cup and give them the serial number. According to them this was from a batch manufactured January 10, 2000. Meaning that with the 5 year warranty these carry, they expired in 2005--> 15 years ago. I returned it and am looking for another dealer.

So Comfortable!!!
I absolutely love these for my range days. Comfort is amazing if you get the gel inserts. My only issue is its a pain to remove the batteries once they die out. Sound quality for conversations is amazing and proved useful during team exercises.

Lifesaver
My husband has been a carpenter all his life and suffers from hearing loss as a result. These have been a lifesaver for him. He wears them when mowing or using his power saw, but they also help him hear the tv (and me) better. We both love them!

COMFORT
I own 3 other electronic muffs, 4 passive, all made me want to rip my ears off after two hours. Not the MSA Sordin. They also have a different sound quality to they--more natural. My ears still sweat in the heat, but these are by far the best muffs I've ever used.
