Gatco 1438SN Glass Railing Shelf, Satin Nickel

Bought this to replace and older and similar shelf. The big plus with this guy is the mounting hardware. A pair of support clips get attached to the wall (easy to line up and make level), then the shelf supports slide over them; a set screw underneath on each support completes the installation. The two support clips come with screws and hollow wall anchors, but in my case I used toggle bolts as I was using the same holes made by the previous shelf supports and I prefer them to hollow wall anchors any day. The shelf support collars are almost two inches in diameter, so they'll cover any prior holes nicely. The glass shelf is tempered and fits snugly in place. The dimensions described are right on, with the mountings 22 inches apart. Only caveat: while the front to back dimensions are indeed 6 inches, the glass portion itself is only 4-1/4 inches deep, not quite deep enough for one of those square vanity tissue boxes.Overall a nice look when installed.

We bought two of this glass shelves to our new bathroom. Because the lack of space, the shelves provided necessary rooms for some items that should be in the bathroom. The rail not only keeps the accessories of falling down but gives the product a very good, sharp look. Very easy to install. We, also, got two chromo towel bars from the same seller. It was a good buy (best price) with a very fast delivery. Good tracking info. Well recommended!!!!

An absolutely beautiful, well made product. The shelf was easy to assemble and install. It is constructed in such a way that you can lift the bar off the glass shelf to clean it. I love it!

The two screws holding the arm supports under the glass had defective plating. After several months they had badly discolored and even made etch marks on the glass. The was put in a bathroom that is very rarely used, and most certainly was kept dry - not that it should matter.

I actually bought two shelves and had them hung one over the other in my bathroom. Extremely sturdy and great looking - easy to clean and fits all my stuff! I'm not a DIY so had the guy in the building hang for me and he didn't seem to have any issues.

These shelves LOOK awesome, and once installed, are fairly sturdy (at least the way that I installed them). I found the instructions that were printed on the side of the box to be unhelpful. Luckily, I'd installed several things using a similar "bracket" system, and was familiar with what needed to be done. However the directions said to use a 5/16 drill bit. So I drilled that hole and inserted the included plastic wall anchor into the hole...only to discover that the type of wall anchors that were included were too small to use with the directed drill bit size. Not a big deal, I went and got some molly bolts that were made to fit the 5/16 holes in the wall. But just be prepared to make at least one trip to the hardware store when installing these (unless you have lots of random sizes of molly bolts laying around).Other than the bad installation instructions, the shelves are great. I recommend them.

Really solidly made, and the bracket support means that the shelf doesn’t start tilting down over time, unlike a previous shelf I had.
