Fantastic Ornament: 110 Designs and Motifs (Dover Pictorial Archive)

The book has a lot of details, including furniture, and archeteture, or interior design. One seems out of place to the rest though. There seems to be a lone Egyptian one among European artwork. I'd love to see more ethnic works. I'm hoping to get Native, African, Middle Eastern and many others eventually.

If you are looking for a detailed book, this is one to buy. Lots of cool drawings.

Got it more for exploring tattoo ideas than for carving wood but I was very impressed with the uniqueness and detail of the drawings.

I bought this book because a lot of my clients have been wanting nice ornate frames surrounding their tattoos, new and old alike. It's becoming a decent trend in my area. Although I had a grasp on what to draw I was looking for a good reference book that would kick my frames up a notch. This book is it. It's detail is spectacular and with so many different themed pieces it's a book I will surely reference again and again.

I have looked at the drawings in this book over and over, and am totally fascinated with them and the art of this time period. This book is the perfect companion to Ornament of the Italian Renaissance which also sits on my bookshelf. These are not color photos, but illustrations, which makes it easier to see more detail. I look forward to purchasing more books in this line and I think the only thing better would be to see the motifs in person.

A book full of awesome designs is useless if you can only get to them using screenshots. I'd hoped that it would be formatted so that I could print individual pages, which shows what I know.

Nice crisp pictures with many varieties to choise from. Not an instructional book on how to draw or anything but.a.very nice book anyway.
