Scrabble(1989 version) by Milton Bradley Game Review
First off guys/gals please excuse that my review isn't a "Amazon Verified Purchase".I bought this on Amazon 3 years ago but only a few sellers had this Scrabble game so I guess the listing was deleted.Anyways here is a picture I thought I'd provide of the 1989 edition of Scrabble by Milton Bradley brand new/sealed in the box...a finer piece of presentation than the stock photo.I got this Scrabble(1989 version) around 1990-1992...birthday gift I think.Had it all these years since my youth and it's been through a lot so I bought this back-up here on Amazon. Why the 1989 version of Scrabble?*If you look at the artwork of Scrabble game boxes decades after this...they just lack imagination.Less use of color, bland look...not very visually tempting from a marketing perspective.*This version has the wooden tile racks and letters.I never knew it changed to plastic until I saw it on the commonly found offerings in stores. Now if you find getting this old version too expensive I have a good suggestion.Hasbro did a remake of Scrabble under their Retro Series based on the 1949 version-wooden tiles and tile racks, cloth pouch for the tiles...$25 so it's pricier than their common Scrabble fare..but nicer.A coin-toss decision really because if you're reading this review?you're wanting the genuine Scrabble board and quality from your own era.

Happy overall, as quality was just as described
Happy overall, as quality was just as described. The box was slightly worn, but I knew that before purchase. I only needed the board, which was in great shape, as I was going to use for a project. I am giving a lower rating because while I paid only about $10, when it arrived, it had a garage sale sticker that was marked for 50 cents. Should have removed sticker before sending.

The game is a Christmas gift, and I thought it was new. The shrink-wrap was a bit sloppy, but I'm giving it anyway.

This is the real deal
Don't know what happened to my original game but I just had to have Scrabble the way I played it years ago. Nice wood pieces, the original game board, the wood tile blocks.

It smells horrible.
This was wayyyy overpriced for being in such bad condition. Box all taped up because it is falling apart, the smell is overwhelming, and it's pretty much worthless. It really sucks, and it was misrepresented. I will try to return it.

Item unacceptable
I did not order a used product. It is obvious that the item is not new and I upset and disappointed.
