Pilot Cocoon Fountain Pen Fine Nib Metalic Gray Body (FCO-3SR-MGY-F)

This is my THIRD Cocoon fountain pen. Why 3? Because they are such very very nice pens!The Cocoon barrel colors add to those available for the Metropolitan - this dark gray has a very (very) slight violet cast in some lights and is quite attractive. And, in my opinion, the Cocoon writing experience is ever so slightly smoother (for me) than what I get with the Metropolitan. In an effort to track down why this might be, I compared the back (feedside) of the nibs for these two pens and found that there actually is a very subtle difference between the nibs - or at least on the ones I own. When I look just behind/below the tip, I see a width of metal on either side of the feed slot which on all 3 of my Cocoons is just slightly more pronounced (thicker, slightly diamond shaped) than on the Metropolitans. Could it be that this slight difference is what I feel when I write with the Cocoons?I am so happy with all three of my Cocoons--the other two are Bordeaux and Blue--that there will be a fourth. I have my eye on the Orange! or maybe the Titanium? or should it be the White? Decisions, decisions!

This one costs a little bit more being a JP import (Metropolitan line in the US), but I think it's well worth the money. This pen boasts a fine point nib versus the mediums standard on the metropolitan. As fine points are my preferential choice, this was a huge bonus to me. The build quality of the Cocoon versus the Metropolitan also seems to be a bit sturdy. The pen is very solid, has a pleasant amount of weight in the hand even without posting the cap, and the cap appears to snap with a magnetic closure. The pen writes very well and comfortably in both the left and right hands.Pilot ink cartridges have great capacity and while I'm generally not a fan of the choices that they offer, the included black cartridge writes very well with no skipping or feathering to be found on standard cheapo notebook paper yet. Highly recommend buying a CON-50 converter and Iroshizuku ink to compliment this lovely pen.

Nothing to dislike about this pen. Surprisingly smooth and a joy to write with. Definitely worth the extra money over the Metro. One of my least expensive pens but one of my favorites. This is my daily writer because it is so smooth, ink flow is consistent and no hard starts ever. It writes every time I pick it up. I love this pen.

Really a phenomenal pen for this price. The nib is great. Perfect for everyday use.

This item does NOT come with a refillable ink cartridge. Turns out there's a reason there is the word "body" in the product name.

I ordered this pen as a gift for a friend for Christmas. I am thankful that it did arrive well before the expected deadline and well before Christmas. But it's kind of hard to comment on the pen itself because it is wrapped in bubble wrap inside a small manila envelope. I was expecting it to be delivered in a white Pilot box like my Prera fountain pen from Comtachi. I guess I'll just have to wrap it without opening it and give it as is...I'm not upset but I just wish that it might be pointed out that the pen would be delivered without the white Pilot box that ensures it is a genuine product.

ペン先はF。万年筆にしてはかなり細字で、ボールペン代わりに使えるレベル。半面、かなり硬めでカリカリした書き味で滑らかさは感じられないことには好みが分かれるかも。でもインクフローは十分です。というかこれだけ細字で、この値段でインクがかすれないって何気にすごい。数万円の万年筆でも（特に海外製）個体差が大きく、ハズレのペン先に当たるとカスレでとても書けないものもあるのですが（なので万年筆は基本試し書き必須）、このペンのレビュー見るところ結構品質が安定してるっぽいですね。技術力でしょうか。国産の万年筆は古めかしくジジ臭いデザインが多いなかで、このペンはおしゃれなのもいい感じ。真鍮製なので重量は重め。パーカーのソネットと同じくらいと感じます。

安いからダメでもいいかと思って購入しましたが、なかなかよかったです。書きやすいです。もともと小さい字を書くのが苦手なので、小さい字は書きにくいと思いますが、1センチ角くらいの文字だと、スラスラ書けます。気に入りました。高価な万年筆は必要ないかな。

中字に続いて細字を購入　知人に合格祝いに送りました　中字は文句なしの書き味でしたが細字は？　見事に期待に応えてくれました中字でもレビューしましたが、高価な舶来品が使えなくなりました（あくまでもコスパの点で）学生さんや初めての万年筆にはうってつけです

安いし、長い間使わなかった時もカスレはありません。さすがパイロットですね
