Q: The description states it protects from spills. Is it waterproof? We have a cat that marks when stressed :-(

Not at all. Puppy had an "accident" on it and it went right through it ruining the cover and the couch. It's a good product for hair and dirt protection, but will leave you sadly disappointed if you are looking for something waterproof.

Q: What are the dimensions of this item?

The sofa protector (size sofa) measures 108" wide (64" is the width of the mainframe and 22" for each arm) and the length is 74". Also, please consult the measuring guide in the listing for further assistance in determining if protector is the correct size for your sofa.

Q: how does the strap work on a sofa?

The elastic strap hooks into small loops on each side. Then we just stretched it over the sides of the arms at the back. It will kind of depend on how your couch is made. If the back is taller than the arms, it should work well. Our couch back is the same height as the arms so we just wrapped it over the arms and it seems to be working. It has been on our couch for over a week and hasn't came off yet.

Q: Will this work for a recliner sofa?

It may not work well if you cover the whole recliner sofa with one cover. It would pull on the upper part of the cover. I would recommend measuring for the recliner chair to see if 3 separate covers would work. That way you would be able to independently recline each section of the recliner sofa. I covered 2/3 of our recliner sofa with the loveseat size. I tucked the extra armrest between the cushions.
