A SIMPLE, ENGAGING, AND EXCELLENT RESOURCE FOR GETTING OVER "ANALYSIS PARALYSIS"!
CREATE THE WEBSITE YOU WANT WITH WORD PRESS [BOOK REVIEW]From Online Entrepreneur Rob Cubbon comes a nice, insightful book on how to create your blog/website using Wordpress from scratch. The book has a lot of good pointers and advice that saves you time and stress by avoiding the many pitfalls and mistakes that new bloggers and entrepreneurs make. Rob shows you that in order to succeed, you only need to FOCUS on two things: Your WEBSITE and building an EMAIL list, "your shield against the unpredictable forces and changes of the net.” In a well-structures and easy-to-follow system of setting up your site, this book walks you through the basic essentials you need to know.BOOK HIGHLIGHTSSigning Up with Host ServerChoosing and Registering a Domain NameInstalling WordpressNaming Your Blog and TaglineThe Importance of and Creating ContentThe Difference Between Wordpress Pages and PostsWriting the Niche-Specific BlogBuilding Engaging Relationships for SupportSelecting a “Paid” Theme vs. “Free” ThemesCustomizing Your Webpage with Premium Themes [More advanced]Logo DesignAdding Plug-insRegistering your Website with Google Webmaster ToolsIn addition to the technical advice Rob delivers, he dives into the importance of creating content for your blog. The message is “love doing it and make it a habitual and consistent practice.” I couldn’t agree more. The book comes complete with very useful snapshots of the Wordpress site so that you can easily follow how things are done. This is another one of the concepts I liked about the book. instead of just a bunch of text telling you what to do, there are pics accompanying each description/step. By taking a glance at the pics while reading about how it's done makes for a more enjoyable read. Building a website is a series of learning curves so the easier you can make it on yourself the better. The book gets into more advanced areas that I started to feel a bit “bogged” down by but, the more I followed along the more important this material seemed. I am referring to the customization of the Wordpress theme and purchasing a logo. This is the only part that threw me off because as it is suggested you spend some money [about $250.00] on a logo, it isn’t something most amateur bloggers still lacking confidence are going to take action on right away, but, a good point to consider if your blogging takes off and you want to look more professional.WORDPRESS ESSENTIALS!Other good TIPS the author discusses centres around the “Wordpress Essentials" with such tools as:Googleweb Master Tools, and;Google Analytics. You will receive a code from Google Analytics you can paste onto the Pages of your Blog in order to track visitor statistics.SEO Titles [information in the book is just basic but Wordpress SEO through yeast.com has an extensive webpage and newsletter you can check out.Creating a Contact FormPreventing SPAM and the necessary PLUG INS for this. Includes direct links to the sites so you can download and install the plug ins right away.Cache and SpeedBacking Up Your Site/SecuritySocial Media SharingAlthough the author admits that the list is a presented to be “dry” and may appear boring to do, the steps presented are must-do and you are encouraged to try it yourself. After giving these a shot it wasn't nearly as difficult as I had imagined it to be. The book walks you through the steps so anybody can do it. Any problems you run into rest assured there is always somebody with the solution, if not Wordpress itself with their multiple training videos to support you in your website creating. As I read through the book I made a checklist of all the steps so that, for future reference if I decide to create more websites, I can just refer to the list and, because I did it all once already, it could go faster the next time around. Finally the book moves into one of the best parts of defining the most important aspect of creating an online business and that is Relationships. Again there are some good pointers here such as: commenting on other blogs and websites, uploading a Gravatar photo, forums and of course, connecting with email. The "making money” section is a nice little bonus and wraps this book up nicely.I would highly recommend this book “Create the Website that you want” because for the low price you pay, it is packed with lots of good information on getting your website up and running, picking a theme for your blog/site, and then promoting your site while helping other people with their success. The author as well, Robb Cubbon, speaks to the readers with a genuine voice and style that keeps you engaged in the process of creating. A definite resource for building a presence online.

This is good book, but the title might mislead you
This is good book, but the title might mislead you. It has great information for the process of setting up a website, branding yourself online, and making money online, but the information on how to do it with WordPress is not very detailed. There are some good recommendations for products, services, themes and plugins and some good advice on becoming a home-based online entrepreneur. The book is well written and formatted, but the images are useless on my Kindle Paperwhite. While it may be lacking in detail, the book is a very good overview of running an online home business and is a great starter book. You will need more detail if you get serious. That said, I have been around internet marketing for several years and I still picked up a few ideas and recommendations. 5 stars for content but minus one star for the misleading title.

My web consultant was hell shocked
A five star review means that I love this product.Firstly, let me break a misconception - this book is not focused on wordpress as I originally thought. This book is focused on Creating a Quality, Workable meaningful Website. This book focuses onNeed to having a website- How the world's neo business models needs web presence- Why you shouldn't try to convince yourself out of it- How you can take a bold stepSelecting a URL- What should be considered- How URL has a presence of its own in the target group's mind- What URLs Google likesContent Creation- What is the easiest and quality step in content creation- How you can work on developing your skills (I used the method described on myself the past one year)- How to make sense.....I can keep going on and onHIGH QUALITY STUFFI can equate the material given here only to Robert Middleton's Web Site Tool Kit but only to tell that though it is much denser in material, it is 10x costlier than this bookWhat I like in this book- Not at all boring- Super smooth- Makes you itchy to start working immediately- You don't even need a paper and pencil to jot down things.- Content is pre-tested and pre-filtered.Why you should buy this book= Technical points are laid out bare to view= Step by step process is explained= I have already implemented with lots of smilesReadability 4.5/5Understandability 4.99/5Lay out, structure 4.5/5Value for money 8/5Usefulness 10/5I recommend highly

Great book for getting started with WordPress!
WordPress is by far, hands down the best platform for blogging, but it can be a bit intimidating when first starting out. This guide by Rob Cubbon makes WordPress easy, but it also provides a lot of great tips that are sound business advice that goes beyond just WordPress. For instance, I really like his tip to have one main purpose for your website. This isn't to say that you can't accomplish multiple things with your website, but rather that you should choose one primary thing to focus on if you want to achieve massive results. This is great advice because often people fail in business since they run so many different directions at the same time, and because of it, never really accomplish anything. The book also provides some great tips on topics such as choosing a domain name and web hosting. It's true that this is basic information, but it's info that people who are starting their first website may not know much about, and Rob explains it well in a way that is informative and easy to understand.I also like the use of images. They are used well, and add a lot to the book. This is definitely a great book for anyone wanting to get started with a website in general and WordPress in particular.

Good. But more WHY than HOW
This book explains WHY you should use WordPress to make your website. It contains some good advice and is written in a clear and friendly style. The author talks about a host of things you should consider before, during and after setting up the website. What it does not do, is tell you specifically HOW to use WordPress to create that website. It is worth buying, but don't expect a step-by-step WordPress manual. To be fair to the author, I don't believe that was his intention. The book is not called 'HOW TO Create the Website You Want With WordPress'.It is a good book, it contains some really useful advice. I have read some of Rob Cubbon's other publications and he comes across as a genuinely nice guy.

Expert advice, from concept to completion
What I thought was particularly useful about this book was that it took me right from the start of the journey. Rob is an outstanding internet marketer, and he makes sure that you're actually getting your target market and pitch right before you even start building the site. Far too many people - beginners and experts - get it into their heads that they must have a website NOW and just fail to engage an audience - any audience. Trust Rob, and he will take you through the whole process from concept to finished website smoothly and painlessly.

this a great guide. Even if you already have a Word ...
This is an everyman / everywoman guide. From first idea of "I think I need a website" to the finished product, this a great guide. Even if you already have a Word press website, it is still useful to go through this book, so that you can cover the bases - from structure, SEO, as well as getting your market right.Excellent value, in terms of time well spent reading this text

Step-by-step guide on starting your website
Everyone needs to have a website nowadays, but it can seem really complicated to set one up. Rob demystifies the whole process by showing that starting a site using WordPress can be straightforward and easy. From deciding on your site's goal and choosing your domain name/host to learning the WordPress essentials to connecting with other businesses (very important!) and monetizing your site, Rob spells out what to do in clear terms. You don't have to be an ace designer or a techie whiz-kid - you just need the willingness and self-discipline to write about what you know on a regular basis. His main message is to get going today. Everything you do can be improved upon later, and practice makes perfect. So if you've been putting off the decision to build your online presence, delay no longer - implement the teaching in this book and you'll be off to a flying start.

Well written WordPress overview for all entrepreneurs and business people ...
Well written WordPress overview for all entrepreneurs and business peopleThis book is just right for a beginner or intermediate at WordPress and it has a particular slant towards entrepreneurs and business people who want to start a website as a branded authority site that attracts customers, collects email addresses, sells products and makes money.I knew a bit about WordPress and Rob certainly tells you the right way to set your site up in the first place. He concentrates on content, security and usability before design and social media – but everything is gone into in a short and succinct manner. It’s well illustrated with screenshots as well.It takes you from the beginning (registering a domain name and sorting out hosting) to the end (selling products and making money). All in all, an ambitious effort that pays off.
