Funny but at times heartbreaking in its depiction of war

Took a chance, happy with this set
Read the reviews & took a chance. Glad I did, it's what I was hoping for-a complete set at a reasonable price. There's no way to check all the disks too many but they appear fine. My seasons & disks are in order & clearly marked-original movie in the very back. The case is fine for what I bought, not sure how else that many disks could be packaged up for reasonable shipping size. My case was not damaged. Delivered in just a few days from order (fulfilled by Amazon). It is true that you have to go back to the main menu & choose each episode. I've bought other series sets that operate in the same manner, it's not difficult to operate. I did note a tiny clear sticker on back that says 'discs made in Mexico'. The discs won't play in our new computer (it might have been the user who tried it) but they play fine in the newer DVD player. & I did note that the current offer is a under different seller than the one for my purchase. Some reviews concerned me a little but I'm pretty happy with the purchase. I'd buy it again to give as a gift.

Reliving old memories
Watching all over again. The series has not lost its magic over time. My wife has never seen it and doesn’t watch it with me, but walks around the house humming the toon and doesn’t know where she’s heard it.

Includes everything Mash for the avid mash lover
The only dislike for this product is that the dvds aren't numbered or ordered in anyway, which makes it hard to figure out what is on which disk. But that is only an issue if you insist on watching everything in order. I love the packaging and the images on the disks. Really awsome to give as a gift.

Affordable, DVD, case isn’t great.
The show is of course HILARIOUS.however the case is not. I get it, it’s 11 seasons in one box. But the way they stack them means you have to pull 1-2 season out to get to the one buried below them. And the top disc in each stack pops off as you’re flipping through (often enough to mention)Minor but means you touch the discs more than needed. I’m just buying a flip case to fix that.Lastly, modern TVs have different video aspects. These are formatted for older “square” TVs. That’s not bad. Just thought I’d mention it. So everyone looks HUGE.

Good value, good video quality, but bad case quality
This is a good value for the complete series of M*A*S*H plus the original movie.Video and audio quality are good, but they could be slightly better. Why? Because these discs do not appear to be authentic 20th Century Fox discs. Using VSO Inspector (a disc analyzer app), there are a few clues as to whether or not a disc is an authentic one made by a big-name studio like Fox, Disney, Warner, etc, or if they are cheap copies made elsewhere (often China). Authentic discs are almost always dual-layer, only have 1 region code, usually list a publisher (Fox, Disney, etc), and usually don't list an application (such as Nero or another burning app). These M*A*S*H discs don't meet most of those criteria for authenticity: they are single-layer, have region codes 1-8, no publisher, and no application. The big issue here is the single-layer aspect. Dual-layer allows for twice the storage capacity, so the files can be made twice as big (half the compression). This can often make a noticeable difference in video quality, but in the case of these M*A*S*H discs, I actually didn't notice much issue with video quality (thankfully).I also own season 7 of M*A*S*H on DVD. I bought it from a reputable local store, and I am almost sure they are authentic Fox discs: they are dual-layer, have region code 1, list Fox as the publisher, and list no application. I did a direct comparison of a few episodes from these authentic discs vs the likely non-authentic discs from this complete series being reviewed here. Thankfully the difference in audio and video quality is negligible. For audio, I didn't notice any difference on my high-quality surround-sound system. For video, I played both sources side-by-side on a large screen and went frame-by-frame in a few spots. When pixel-peeping paused frames this way, I found that the authentic discs had slightly better detail and slightly fewer compression artifacts than these discs being reviewed here, but the difference was very minor. When actually playing the video, I couldn't see any difference, and I'm the kind of person who typically notices these things. So, not authentic, but this doesn't seem to affect it much, at least for the few episodes I checked in season 7. The fact that they don't appear to be authentic is probably why they are quite a bit cheaper than most other sources of the complete series. The reason I took 1 star off this review is that the DVD cases aren't very good. The inner parts of the cases that hold the discs tend to fall apart after a few uses. The outer parts of the cases are decent quality though.

Good value!
Great set of dvds for a good price. Some disks glitch for a fraction of a second at the end of a scene.

Still funny 50 years later…;)
For a series produced 50 years ago these 30 minute programs still hit the funny bone (although this may be true for boomers only) and is endearing to watch. The quality of the visuals is very good although i do have to turn up the volume quite abit (ie, audio is not prefect). I recommend it for those boomers who are nostalgic for an earlier tv watching time and/or for anyone who appreciates these particular actors…some of whom are no longer with us.
