Chronic Pain, No formal Medical diagnosis, here is hope
My daughter loves it. She is doing myofacial release therapy with home exercises, the only thing that has helped with upper body pain, neck and some headaches. It has been a long road for her with medications and trigger point injections, and even spinal blood patches for CSF leakage. Consultations at UCSF, Cedars Sinai and Stanford led to dead ends or mere guesswork. No formal diagnosis in the end. Myofacial Release, a little acupuncture and hot tubs or warm water were in the end all that seems to give relief.

Excellent book!
Love this book! The suggested exercises have helped me tremendously! I highly recommend if you are suffering from overall pain in your whole body. I am now practicing the recommended movements daily, especially in the morning when I wake up and throughout the day when I am working at the computer.

Painful to read
To be honest, I couldn't get very far into this book. The writing was stiff and unpleasant, and for me, as someone with a PhD in biology specializing in statistics, much of it was very unscientific. After reading his nonsense about why double blind clinical trials are bad, his explanations around evolution/DNA, and trying (failing) to use quantum physics to explain energy healing like Reiki, I had to give up. I suffer from chronic pain and think fascia, scar tissue, and adhesions may be contributing, but couldn't put up with the writing.

Not just for people with pain, but for anyone who doesn't know what fascia is.
Amanda has done a fantastic job to explain the function of fascia in the body and how it is impacted by our lifestyles. I came to read the book as I had surgery and chronic pain, but I think so much of this information is valuable for office workers or anyone who has repetitive strain through work and/or sports; for those people who start feeling tightness and small aches, before it becomes something bigger. Amanda give tips and exercises to help yourself. Fascia is fascinating and wonderful and the best bit, once you know how it works, you can release tension and it will make you feel so much better!

An Enlightening Read
I bought this book for my wife who has been in chronic pain for 6 years now and has been passed from one specialist to another with no results. She was recently told there is no more they can do and she has been referred to the Pain Clinic to help manage it.The specialist who referred her recommended reading this book. It describes her symptoms to a tee. So we have begun our fascial journey today.

Excellent book
This book is excellent and is a companion to the myofascial balls. It was recommended to me by someone at a pilates class. It is very informative on what exactly myofascial release is and how the exercises can help to manage pain. There are sections about different health conditions which cause pain and suggested exercises, some of which use the myofascial balls. There are clear diagrams and explanations for the exercises. Would highly recommend
