Real Gardens Grow Natives: Design, Plant, and Enjoy a Healthy Northwest Garden

I was trying to be frugal and use an ebook copy from Libby but I’m glad I got fed up with returning/borrowing it and the small page size. Now I have the physical copy of this greatly informative book.. I look forward to learning more about PNW Native plants and more from it pages!

Very informative with great photos. Was recommended from a gardening group and really glad I picked it up. No idea we had some really cool local options for the garden.

In browsing this book, I find that (1) pages were missing. Otherwise, it is a great book and full of information.

I've created a local pollinator-supporting movement in Portland called Pollinator Parkways, and have been reading a lot of books as part of my research for the project.This one is especially nice because not only does it focus on this region, the author gives special consideration to pollinators, has gorgeous photos (which I'm already using when talking to people who want to create pollinator space in their areas) and is fun to read. She has diagrams and outlines as examples for creating your own space, and a list of 100 stunning native plants with full-page profiles at the end.My one and only suggestion is to have more photos of naturescaped gardens. There aren't very many.I'd especially love images that show a design next to the real version of the design.All in all, I find this book very useful. I read it in a week!

I consider this my Bible of useful info and pics when I am selecting where/what natives to plant.

It was so nice to find a book on native gardening for the Pacific Northwest. The photos are lovely, and I especially liked the recommendations for plants that grow well together with the 100 featured plants.

Great resources for northwest gardeners. Useful appendix to guide successful planting I highly recommend it to anyone interesting in native gardens.

Perhaps the best and most important book for native plant gardening for my area in the PNW. Get it.
