wish it had more close up color photos, hard to see colors for painting references.

I was really looking forward to this book as theU.S. Marines in WW2 is one of my favorite areas in history and the specific subject of their uniforms and equipment is not I feel definitively represented, hell not even decently represented. First off this is a physically small book. For the price it should have included a lot more pages. Second the subject of uniforms demands a larger format as Schiffer publishing usually does. This way the details of the uniforms are not lost. Many of the photos in this book are black and white. The reason you purchase a book like this is to view the details of the uniforms on quality paper and photographed by professionals. That said the few color pictures or reactors wearing Marine uniforms are extremely poor. They look like they were photographed in the 1980 or 1990's. Not the kind of higher quality pictures you would expect in 2019. Most of the color photographs are poorly lit or overexposed and bleached out when they are put against an all white background making the details even harder to see. This book would have greatly benefited from and art director and more importantly a larger format.

If you are interested in getting a usmc uniform of World War 2 getting this book it will help you out
