Not perfect, but it is a great 3-hole punch.
I've been using this 3-hole punch five days a week for a couple of years, and it works extremely well for me. There are three things I had to do to get great performance out of it. First, I had to replace a broken clip that holds one of the pins on. I replaced it with a staple that I straightened out and then wrapped around the end of the pin. This is difficult to imagine, but if you get one of these 3-hole punches and one of the pins comes loose, you'll see how wrapping a straightened staple around the end of the pin fixes the problem. Second, I had to remove the plastic tray that fits on the bottom of the stapler. This leaves the confetti left over from the hole punching to collect on my desk under the punch, but that just makes it easier to clean up. Third, I had to put some WD40 on the punch pins so that they would retract properly. It seems to need another shot of WD40 every six months or so. Sounds like a bit of a hassle, but the total time to do all three of these things is about two minutes, and then you've got a great punch. I have never found a better one in the big-box office supply stores.

Good item
This hole punch is very easy to use and comes all ready for use. Nothing special about it other than it works well and as advertised.

JUNK
this 3-hole punch broke when trying to punch holes in 4 pages - not 40. First time out. A terrible product. Better to go to staples
