This is a fascinating look into the world of biomedical politics. Be aware that this is a dense book, but it is an important read for anyone interested in the intersection of politics and race. As white male, it is easy to believe that all STEM-cell research is noble and only for the best. Dr. Ruha Benjamin is a dynamic speaker and has a passion for illuminating issues of race, disability, gender, and socio-economic class. If you have any interest in broadening your view of how marginalized groups are subjected as test subjects, this is a must read.
