Update on review: notice in the photos my original knife on top and the 'replacement' on bottom. It won't work for me and most women I suspect. You might not notice if you have never had one of these knives in the past that fit your hand, but the excessively large handle on this knife and the distance from the handle to the cutting part of the knife is too much such that a person with little hands won't be able to use it comfortably.Original posted review: I'm sure this is a great knife for all the men out there. Additionally, women with big hands. I have average to small women's hands with a little arthritis in my fingers/thumb and was looking to replace my most favorite tourne knife of all time (F. Dick) that I used for 20+ years. Alas, it is finally getting a crack in the handle so I started looking and because this knife was 'Amazon's Choice' with lots of positive reviews I ordered it (well, I accidentally ordered 2). Very disappointed in how freakishly large the handle is. The handle could work for an 8" knife and the distance between where you have to hold the knife and the effective cutting surface is much to far of a distance for small hands to manage.. It just is not proportioned well. I ripped open the package and tossed out before realizing this won't work; keeping one and will give to my son and sending the other back. Not useful for me in the way my old one was. So sad as it's a beautiful knife, just not engineered for a women's hand.

I had my eye on this one for a long time and I'm so glad I finally purchased it!All the best knives in my kitchen are ancient hand me downs from my grandparents. This is because those old knives were well made with sturdy handles and good carbon steel blades that hold an edge.I have had a hard time finding a good all purpose kitchen knife lately, mostly because the quality of the steel is very poor with most of whats available.This knife is made right and its far and away my favorite! It will probably be passed down to my grandkids, it's that good. Good keen edge that cuts easily and stays sharp. It has not needed any sharpening but I know it will restore to sharpness easily. The handle is very well made, sturdy and smooth and it will last.As a bonus it is perfectly balanced and fits the hand well. I keep it in its box and its my go to trout knife for perfect fillets. For now, it is a prized possession that I only use for the most important foods but for certain, I will be buying more of these so that I can use them for all my cooking.

I really like how the curved blade cuts. I didn't realize the work I was making on myself by using a straight-blade paring knife for all my paring needs. Anything rounded cuts better with this knife. It's sharp, easy to handle, and it has good heft so you maintain good control. I'd certainly recommend adding it to your knife collection. I have good quality knives, and this knife compares quite well to them. I'm totally pleased.

Another Fraudulently depicted Product on Amazon, giving the impression this is a German Knife, like Wusthof, there is a name printed on the package "LacaMax GmBh, Lubenhof 23,45326, Essen, Germany" God knows what that means? This knife is very heavy, the shape is not quite as comfortable as my other Wusthof knife I have at home. It is a pain in the neck to return stuff, since I completely cut up the package to throw it out, until I noticed - this knife is not German, its made in Shenzen, China trying to pass themselves off as German on Amazon, and Clearly like here, Amazon has no problem promoting Fraudulent claims! Hopefully, this will be the last Foreign Made Knife I will buy!

First off, the blade is very sharp, which is excellent. The length of the blade is a little shorter than the serrated paring knife it is replacing.On to the one bad on the knife is how it's packaged. When the knife came, the little plastic use to protect the tip came off. The knife moved out the plastic holder, causing the knife to push pass the plastic box, and the very sharp tip poking out of the box. I was lucky when reaching for the package in the Amazon shipping envelope my hand did not grab on to place where the knife tip was poking out.That is just a dangerous scenario. If the knife was still sitting tightly in the box when it arrived, it would gotten five stars.

I am used to work with peeling knifes. However, it is difficult to get one; most people even seem not to know this type of knife. When I first used this one, it felt very strange because of its weight distribution. But once I got used to it, I use it every day. Actually, it became my favorite knife: it is easy to manipulate, very sharp and has a precise cut.06/18/20: I decided to buy a second one. These knifes have a different weight distribution than normal ones, but they are perfect. Would not want to live without.

This is a perfect knife for removing skins from oranges and slicing other fruits. It is so sharp that you just have to be careful not to nick yourself. When peeling apples, I actually place the apple on a cutting board and avoid drawing the knife blade towards me. It's a little awkward, at first, but it is safer. This knife is super-sharp and works very well.

Bought it on faith. That usually does not turn out well. Not this time. It is difficult to describe just how well this knife works for peeling long Russet potatoes. The weight; substantial and balanced. The sharpness is near perfection without being danger sharp. The curved blade is ergonomic and functional. I have carpal tunnel, so it is painful to use small knives. Not with this one. One side note: I do have large hands so I cannot speak for all humans, but this is one of my best knives. Perhaps the best knife because my expectations were low and it was a complete surprise how well it works. My hat is off to the engineer and designer.
