Oneof the "gotos" for can openers
I've been through dozens of can openers over the space of the last 3-4 years and they all either don't cut or rust/seize up. For ages ive heard everyone say Brabantia or OXO Good Grips are the way forward for can openers and i can definitely say the Brabantia is living up to its reputation. It's opened every can ive thrown at it so far with little effort. It cuts cleanly and effortlessly and fits in the hand well and turns with minimal effort.

Great little tin opener
The tin opener is well constructed and easy to use-nice and light. I haven’t given it 5 stars as I have only used it for a couple of months and I want to see if it lasts ,so far no problems and very happy with it.

Can open cans
Not 100% perfect, but not enough to lose any stars either, the Brabantia opener is one of two can openers we have recently ordered. Our older opener, unbranded, but with chubby black handles and aluminium detailing, has been utterly fabulous for the many years we've used it. This no-name opener has lasted a couple of decades but at last the wear on the teeth reached the point where it was no longer able to work well, and it's now a Can't Opener. It is a top-opener rather than the type that cuts from the side, so we wanted the same type and the choice came down to this Brabantia (a known good make in our household) and the Chinese-made SUPRENT Can Opener that resembles our gone-but-not-forgotten unbranded one. The Suprent has good reviews and a similar grip system to our old one, and in the end we thought we'd just get them both. We flirted with the idea of one with a magnet to help lift out a lid once it is free, but don't really care so much about that. The Brabantia opener works really nicely and, being quite new, is even better than the older Brabantia one used by a relative that is still going strong (and which persuaded us about the brand). If you have smaller hands, the narrowish grips on this opener will allow you to apply a decent amount of pressure to close the opener on the can and keep it there, and the handle is very comfortable to use. That said, I personally prefer the feel of the Suprent, which when closed feels as though you're holding a smoothish pebble in your hand rather than a linear grip such as on this Brabantia. The Suprent also has a nice smooth turning handle which is fine until you have powder or liquid on your hands, when the thinner handle of the Brabantia really scores.I think this is a good opener and, based on the longer term use of similar Brabantia openers by friends and relatives, I reckon it'll be here for the longer term and I've no doubt I'll be using this and the Suprent opener interchangeably. They all work on similar principles so it is build quality and the resulting durability that counts, and that comes down to the teeth mechanism and how well that wears over the course of time. And... since we have a black and grey kitchen with either black or red accessories, this'll fit right in!

Great
These little whippersnappers open tins like lightning! I had hitherto opened my tins of, for example, "baked beans" using the hammer technique favoured by the early "canned goods" adopters of the Klondyke Gold Rush, by wacking the tin very hard with a hammer against a rock. Needless to say, as age creeps upon me (I'm 72) I needed to find a less strenuous (and less messy) method of accessing the foodstuffs. These are just the job!

Quality can opener
Bought this brand as it has never let me down like cheaper versions. Opens cans effortlessly without leaving a jagged edge. Will buy again (but probably won’t be necessary!)

Good but not the quality I expected
For this price I expected something sturdier. This is just an ordinary opener made of steel that is obviously too thin. It's good, but it's a long way from great and it certainly doesn't justify it's price. You can get can openers as good as this for a lot less.

Brilliant
I was really fed up with badly designed openers that only lasted a couple of months so bought this one. It is brilliant, easy to hold and turn, no sharp edges. I have had it a couple of months now and it is still like new. It really is worth the extra money
