Purina Deli-Cat Dry Cat Food - 3.5 lb. Jug, pack of 4

My cat is a rescue and when I adopted him, I intially fed him DeliCat. He loved it but after a while, it was hard to find at local stores. Consequently, I bought several other brands but my cat did not like them, and, in some cases, he actually vomited. I do a lot of shopping at Amazon so I did a search and, fortunately, found DeliCat in a variety of sizes.Star, my cat, really enjoys eating his DeliCat. In fact, he likes it too much because he's starting to put on weight. I'll have to cut back on his portions as he would eat non-stop. With the other cat foods, he only nibbled and never wanted seconds. My friend's cat also likes the DeliCat formula so it definitely is "cat approved."I like the plastic container that holds the food. It's easy to carry, keeps the food super fresh and the empty containers are useful for storage or carrying garden water. They can also be recycled.I sure hope that Amazon will continue to carry DeliCat because it isn't easy to find in the local market. Based on my cat's approval of DeliCat, I would recommend this product without reservation.

I don't know what it is about this cat food but I've never met a cat who doesn't love it. I've been feeding Deli Cat to an assortment of cats for years...from house cats to feral cats and they all chow down on it like they haven't eaten in months. I've also recommended it to many cat owners with the same results...everyone says they're cats love this stuff. I'm sure it's not the best quality cat food you can buy so now that I'm a little more savvy (via the computer age) about nutrition for animals, I mix this with a "healthy" food so I feel better about what I feed my pet. But, I can't help but recommend this food to anyone who has a fussy animal or one that hasn't been eating well. I bet they'll eat this!For some reason it's getting harder and harder to find in regular grocery stores so I really appreciate Amazon carrying it in several different sizes. I just ordered the 12 1lb boxes with the Subscribe and Save option, which is a terrific price...cheaper than I can find it anywhere. Plus it gets shipped right to my door. What more can you ask? I highly recommend!

I have gone through several different cat foods before I found one that my cat would actually eat. I also found a canned cat found she likes as well, but she likes to take it out of the bowl and eat it off the floor. Yea, the floor gets a little sticky. With Deli-cat she can eat it and not mess up the floor.

We adopted a cat from our local shelter about two years ago. He was around two years old and was a stray so we had no clue about his history and what he was fed. He started vomiting as soon as we got him home. The vet recommended we switch his food, so we did. Just when we would think we found the right food for him, he would start vomiting again. We literally went through a half-dozen different kinds of cat food (canned, dry, high-end) until we happened to try this one. He stopped vomiting and we were so relieved. He started to put on weight and everything seemed fine until one day we ran out of food and my husband bought a different brand on accident. Sure enough, he began vomiting again. I had an extremely difficult time finding this brand locally (our supermarket stopped carrying it) and have been getting it on Amazon for about a year now. Our cat won't touch any other kind of food (people food), he only eats this cat food. I am just glad he tolerates it and I'm glad I can order 12 boxes at a time (via Subscribe'n'Save). According to our 20 year old cat (next month) this is the only food she will eat. And has been since we got her 16 years ago. She has all of her teeth so the vet says it’s great food. But the thing is it’s all she eats. No wet food. So I think it’s great cat food.

I'm the kind of pet owner that likes to buy expensive food for my animals. I'm a sucker for all that grain-free/organic/limited ingredients marketing, but regardless of my preferences my cat will not eat anything else. I got her when I was 17 so my mom would just buy her whatever she grabbed from the grocery store. She would sometimes stop liking something and we'd have to switch her but once we got her this she refused to eat anything else. Even recently, my mom couldn't find it and she would wait to eat until she was starving so I was happy to find it on amazon. I don't know what it is about it, maybe the container keeps it fresh, but she's already 15 and as active as she's always been. So I'm happy and will continue to buy this for her.

Opened up the four pack to remove them from the box and, while this is likely not the seller's fault but rather the packaging facility's, I pulled the second of four containers out and it not only didn't have a plastic top (!) but no aluminum sealer (!!) so the whole container went spilling all over my hard wood floors. REALLY???? I didn't even know this was a possible outcome! WTH Purina? WHAT THE H*LL?????

The cat food was all right. The shippining method was abominable! I ordered two boxes of 4 jugs each--16 lbs per box. I received one box of 8 jugs--32 lbs. This was supposed to come Prime. The delivery man put it on my stoop but it didn't fit. Sometime during the day it slipped down four steps to the sidewalk. I was traveling so the friend cat sitting for me had to get my neighbor to help her get it.into my house. Itwas still sitting in my front room when I got home because she couldn't get the box down the stairs to my basement. I have room to store the boxes of 4 each, but not one large enough to hold 8. And 8 individual jugs are very awkward and cumbersome. I am still walking around jugs to get to my washer and dryer. I ordered 2 boxes of 4. There wasn't even an option for 1 box of 8. I would have returned it but it was two weeks before I got home. Besides being outside the return window, We couldn't figure out how to get a box that size and weight into my car. Total fiasco.
