A masterclass in mountain photography
The front cover pretty much tells you what to expect from this beautifully presented, large-format coffee table book. Around 90 stunning panoramic images from Scotland's mountains, spread across a weighty 160 pages makes this tome feel worth every penny. The time and effort invested in each image are obviously considerable, Aitchison's approach very eloquently explained within the introductory text. What I also appreciated was each image is captioned perfectly adding a real context to the challenges that are faced in producing such a body of work. You get a real sense that every single image is fought for... and usually from 3000 feet! This type of photography is one of the hardest to master, no wonder then that this portfolio was produced over many years - a sure sign of Aitchison's self-imposed high standards. Then throw into the mix that the whole thing is all produced on film and you are left with a feeling that this is something quite special. If you're a fan of the genre, the Munros or just Scotland in general, this book should be at the top of your list.Recommended wholeheartedly.MG

Stunning Photography
However the quality of printing of the book was not that great. Also the cover was printed on a cheap high gloss material, the printing does not do the photography Justice!

Great book for the coffee table
Fantastic book for fans of the highlands, as a photographer myself I appreciate how committed he must have been to get some of these shots. Recommend

WONDERFUL ALBUM
A wonderful album of the authors talent in landscape photography. It is always a case of being in the right place at the right time but also knowing when to be in the right place. Sometimes a little luck is required and a lot of patience but this volume displays both in abundance. Many fine photographs that will inspire others to choose locations carefully and if they have the time, wait for that special moment.
