John W. Schaum Piano Course: H -- The Grey Book

I have been teaching my niece and granddaughter piano. I absolutely love the progression and the music rearranged by Schaum. The series from the pre-A book to the H book offer continuous study and practice for the piano student. Perfect for teaching memorization of pieces. Vocabulary used and explained, fingering and note-reading included. My granddaughter is 6 and loves learning the pieces. My niece has progressed to Book C and is proficient to play more than 20 songs from memory. What a wonderful chance I have to share....and these books have provided everything needed!

I have been a piano teacher for almost 7 years now and I can't find a better piano course than John W. Schaum. It is what I was trained on as a child, so I really tried to find a different series because I didn't want to carry a bias. However, in my opinion, there is just not a better course! Most of the songs are fun and yet educational at the same time.

Love these books! I like how they start out simple and then they progress to get a little more challenging.Great for any type of piano player..

Wonderful advanced music for a piano student who has successfully studied the books in the course, A to G. The music in it is beautiful and very well fit for entertaining, once the student has mastered them. The pieces in this book can proudly become part of a student's repertoire.

Exactly as expected, perfect! We have gotten all of these in the series so no surprises here. That I have to use a certain number of words is silly.

These are among the best piano books I've every studied from, and they start from raw beginner and work up to a good level of competence.

Loved the fast service, and very happy that it's still in publication. I played it 50 yrs ago and haven't played often since. Makes me happy I can still play it.

Schaum piano course is an excellent way to learn piano. This book is great.

Good in the fifties. Still as good now I can recommend this series of books to anyone wishing to learn to play the piano.
