Remarkable product but does require some getting used to
Buddies of mine who do a lot of surf fishing have been raving about Suffix 832. They are using a 30 lb line that casts and handles like 14.I purchased the 6 lb line and it has taken some getting used to. Overall I am still dazzled by the performance.Notes:- Very thin and supple.- So light that it I am casting a rooster tail lure 35' without any weight other than a small snap swivel.- Very responsive, no noticeable stretch on the pan fish I have been catching.Things to get used to:- It's like a long hair and a challenge to deal with given my old sausage fingers.- difficult to cut cleanly- my tried and true monofilament knots have become untied. A "palomar knot" is what my buddies are tying. Just something different to learn.- Everybody and I mean everybody wants me to give them 50 yards or so to try.

Great for casting
I'm casting further with this line on a Shimano reel and the sensitivity from bites is making fishing a lot more fun.

Good line, camo not that invisible
Not sure what kind of knots others are using, but this tied great knots for a braid-ish line. Has a nice stiffness in the wind as well and is easier to trim than average. Great feel on the strike. My one complaint is it (camo color) seems too visible underwater in super-clear conditions. Plenty of chases but a lot fewer strikes in stiller water than usual. In swifter moving water, it wasn't a problem though, so I'd imagine it's fine for most applications.

Frays easily
Tried Suffix 832 after I had bad experiences with wind knots using Power Pro Super 8 Slick. Mistake. Online user review rate the Suffix 832 line very highly, but when inspecting the line after about three hours use, it was fuzzy from fraying.Pulled out my spare spool loaded with Power Pro Super 8 and it had tiny signs of fraying at the working end. The Power Pro had been on the same rod/reel and in the water at least 60 hours, and had been dragged over sandy bottoms which I suspect caused it to fray towards the end.Checked the rod guides and roller bearing and couldn't detect any nicks or flaws, and couldn't feel any nicks or rough areas on the lip of the spool. Put the Power Pro spool on again and after three (frustrating) hours, it wasn't fraying. The Suffix was equally fuzzy for about 40 yards, not just near the working end. At home, it seemed to be as strong in the frayed area as in the unused, un-fuzzy area - didn't use a scale to measure breaking strengths, so grain-of-salt. Switching spools back and forth, it seemed that the fraying was reducing the distance I could cast the Suffix 832 by 10% or more.At home I also ran a nylon stocking along the guides, the roller bearing and the spool lip and didn't find any areas that were rough or that caught or snagged the nylon. I'm convinced it wasn't anything about the gear that caused the Suffix to fray.I don't have the funds to cut off 30 or 40 yards of a spendy fishing line each day I use it.You may have different results, but I can't recommend Suffix 832.
