Good for 8 year old
8 year old girl loves this! The downside is you can only make a few things before you need to buy more refills which isn't great. You can possibly wind some thread onto the little cartridges to refill them yourself but we've not tried it so not sure how possible it is.

Alright item !
when I received this item, it looked like it was empty and that it wasn’t what I was looking for but as it’s a gift I didn’t open it and just wrapped it but I will give another review when opened. It came when expected and came in good packaging.

Cheap components, jammed after first bracelet, no support
The setup was easy. The first bracelet went through beautifully. The cheap plastic clasps hard to open, and they slide right off the ends with a little bit of tugging, despite the end caps and stickers. I can't believe the plastic charms. No effort to look nice. But I could forgive all this if we could make a second bracelet. The way the machine works is two opposing gears grab the spools and dance them around. Somehow our spools got out of rhythm after we cut our bracelet loose, and now they can't return to their spots, ramming into each other. The troubleshooting guide says to go to their website (where the videos close when you hit play) or their YouTube channel (which is a giant commercial) for the how-to video. When I watched the video, it was only a how-to, nothing about fixing a jam. Unreal. Oh, and to add insult to injury, we found out after the fact that there are different spools for bracelets and necklaces. As far as we can find, that's only mentioned in troubleshooting at the very end. Waste of materials. UPDATE: I finally found the video under support on the desktop website. I was able to fix our problem with only a little fuss. We have not yet attempted to make another bracelet. I am still upset about the quality of materials, and if this proves to be worthwhile to keep, I will be ordering our own clasps/end caps that are metal and clamp down so they don't slide right off the ends of the bracelets.

Great machine for kids to create
My daughter 7 loves this machine - she can now load the machine herself after me Helping her with setup a couple of times. Produces beautiful bracelets for her friends and family. Don’t wind the handle mechanism the wrong way - we have broken one completely doing this! New bobbins are expensive but I have seen you can buy other brands to fit although I haven’t tried this.
