Nerite snails are widely believed to be the single best snail in the aquarium hobby for eating algae. They are totally safe with any fish, shrimp, or plants, and are completely peaceful. Nerite snails require salt water to reproduce, so they will never overpopulate your aquarium (as some freshwater snails are known to do). Tiger nerite snails range from 1/2 to 1 inch in size. They usually will remain around 1 inch throughout their lifespan, but the occasional snail will reach 1 1/2 inches! They do not eat plants (only algae), so they are perfectly suitable for planted tanks. RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: - PH level range: 6.5 to 8.5 - Temperature range: 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit - Water type: Medium hard - Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Other types of snails (other Nerite snails, Mystery Snails, Sulawesi Snails, etc.), dwarf shrimp (such as Blue Velvet shrimp, Sakura Fire Red Cherry Shrimp, Neon Yellow Shrimp, etc.). They can also be kept with small to medium-sized, non-aggressive fish. - Additional notes: With all nerite snails, it's a good idea to make sure the water line in your aquarium isn't too high, as these snails tend to climb up beyond the water line. Nerite snails do not tolerate water with high nitrate levels. Snails are very sensitive to copper, so watch out for copper if you use tap water in your tank

Nerite Snails!
Received my snails today. All five snails are doing fine. That's right, five snails! Was only supposed to get four. But they are have been in my aquarium about two hours and are already eating the algae. Must say I am very pleased and will probably do business with Seven Sea Supply in the future.

Not a great idea to order aquarium pets online.
The snails came in plastic jar with completely opaque, dark brown liquid. When I opened the jar, the odor was unbearable. It smelled like death. when I drained the liquid off, I found one dead snail and it's empty shell. There were the four snailed I ordered, barely alive. I rinsed them and released them into a quarantine aquarium. It took then a long time to become active (days) and they never did become normally active before dying off in three days.

They were moving within hours
I received different sized snails which I loved that I got one that is adorably small. They were moving within hours and they're doing a great job at cleaning the brown algae I have in my tank.

Yay snails!
Arrived quickly and boy were they well-packed! All snails are in great shape. They are young and bright and lively. Started chowing on my tank slime as soon as I dropped them in - completely opposite from the lazy turds I bought from PetSmart. I am very happy.

Awesome aquarium cleaners
I received 4 but unfortunately 2 had died. The other 2 that lived are amazing little tank cleaners and are fun to watch.
