Affordable, efficient, and perfect for small tanks :)
I am thoroughly impressed with the AQUANEAT Double Bio Sponge Filter. This little gem has exceeded all my expectations.Firstly, its design is perfect for my nano aquarium. It fits snugly in the corner, taking up minimal space while providing excellent filtration. The dual sponge setup ensures maximum biological filtration, keeping my water crystal clear and ammonia levels in check.Installation was a breeze, and it's incredibly easy to maintain. I appreciate how simple it is to clean the sponges without disrupting the beneficial bacteria colony. Plus, the suction cups are strong and reliable, keeping the filter securely in place. The flow rate is adjustable, allowing me to customize it to suit the needs of my aquarium inhabitants, whether they're delicate shrimp or active bettas. And despite its powerful filtration, it's whisper-quiet, so it doesn't disturb the tranquility of my tank.Speaking of inhabitants, my fry, shrimp, and bettas absolutely love it. They happily explore and even use the sponges as hiding spots. It's great to see them thriving in such a well-filtered environment.Overall, I couldn't be happier with the AQUANEAT Double Bio Sponge Filter. It's affordable, efficient, and perfect for small tanks. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for reliable filtration for their nano aquarium.

Great you just have to understand how they work
I took a before and after when I placed it in a 3 gallon. My guppy had some unplanned fry after I thought I had separated her in time and I didn't want them swarming the community tank. This filter works great but people seem to be having issues with gravel/floor cleaning. This filter is not powerful enough to suck the debris from the floor and it never will be. The way it was designed just won't allow it as it's powered by an air pump, not an actual HOB filter. This thing does great for cleaning the WATER, not the floor which is what you want. I took my vacuum and shot oxygen to the floor to disturb it, and after the second round this is how it looks. Water will always stay crystal clear, you just have to manage the floor which is no big deal as you can just disturb the water and let it do its job. Before installing I had debris floating in the water and caked on the floor and no matter how much I vacuumed and did water changes, it stayed that way. I didn't have a filter so I needed something simple. Best decision. Not only is it convenient, I don't have to take up another outlet!

Really nice product
I just recently switched from a HOB filter to a sponge filter and I love it. It got a little clogged after the first few days or week I had it. I just placed my finger over the air to apply pressure to the intake until it became unclogged. Haven’t had an issue since. My tanks stay nice and clear because of these! Definitely sticking to these.

Great little filter/ Safe for babies
This is a great little filter even when your like me and don't realize that the center tube telescopes out to give it more suction. I will probably be buying a couple more when I set up my other small tanks. *Update* After a couple months of use: Don't expect to feel or see the water getting sucked into the filter like some other reviewers did. It works off of creating a suction from the air bubbles going up the center tube, not from a water pump. But it works very well at filtering ther water and oxygenating the water at the same time. And I don't need to worry about the fry or baby shrimp getting sucked up with this filter.

Not having luck with these in a 10 gallon
I have used the larger sponge filters for tanks up to 29 gallons with great success. I have the small one with a 10 gallon tetra pump in a 10 gallon tank and it seems to be doing absolutely nothing. I have seen detritus literally drift right onto the sponge and then just drift right off the top. I have also tried a 20 gallon pump to move more air but it made no difference. My suspicion is the 10 gallon tank is too small and the water current overpowers the suction? IN any case, im glad it was cheap and if I upgrade to a 20 long I will use the larger pump and see if this improves performance. So far I have piles of snail dirt behind and under the filter...not IN IT...where it belongs. I wouldn't get the small one again for anything.

Works great!
Bought this for a 3 gallon planted shrimp tank and it works wonderfully. The water flow is hardly affected, so the shrimp are happy. I have mine set up with the top elbow sticking out of the water since my tank is pretty shallow, it makes a cool waterfall effect that I am working to incorporate into my design.

Great filter
This filter has done wonders for my fish tank. I have it paired with a HOB filter and this filter picks up what the HOB doesn’t. My shrimp absolutely LOVE to hang out on the filter and eat all day long on it. Great purchase and would highly recommend!
