Why Chooses Selric UV resistant Poly Thread?? Three Main Tests Passed Friction Level - Tested: Very good abrasion resistance. Tensile Level - Tested. High strength per size-high elongation. Twist Level - Tested. Extra smoother than normal poly threads on the market. High Standard Testing & Producing Process Automatic Colored Machine: Very good color fastness. Imported Producing Machine: Winding machine purchased from TaiWang; Waxing machine imported from Germany; Drawing setting machine imported from Italy. Excellent Craftsmanship: Very good UV resistance. Secondary lubrication process is using silicon wax imported from Germany to enduce the friction at the end of the needle. Very easy to use
I used this product for making wigs. I was tired of the hair store thread. At first I was uncertain and didn’t know how it would turn out but I’m glad I tried it. Not only is it way easier when threading the needle but it also makes the sewing process a lot easier as well.

Good as far as I can tell.
This is my first experience using #69 thread so I have nothing to compare with and can not comment on whether or not this actually is #69 thread as some other reviewers have. I had a project that involved sewing 500D Cordura nylon and #69 was the recommended thread type. I knew I would have to purchase in a larger quantity than I was going to need so I shopped for price, that’s why I purchased this specifically. Here’s my experience... I was using it to sew 500D Cordura Nylon and 12 oz. denim on a Janome home sewing machine using a size 16/100 needle. The thread consists of a twist of three strands. When cut the strands want to unravel unless you use VERY sharp scissors. This can make needle threading challenging. The thread is very tough; you won’t be “unsewing” by pulling seams apart, have your seam ripper handy. Sometimes the threads will “fuzz” when going through the eye of the needle and if the machine hasn’t jammed when you noticed it then it will unless you cut the thread and rethread the needle. The thread requires a MUCH higher tension setting than usual, definitely test on some scrap and adjust before beginning to work. I don’t believe this is a problem with my machine but a function of the thread; I could not do a tight zig zag (about 1 stitch length) without the machine jamming and making a bird’s nest on the underside. Wider zig zags were okay (about 2 1/2).That’s my experience. Would I buy this again? I just did, I needed another color for a new project. I’m giving it five stars because I don’t know any better not having had any other experience with #69 thread to compare this to.

Excellent value for your money
This is the third I order this thread. I make totes with burlap coffee bags and I needed a strong and thick thread for the job that wouldn't be too costly. After researching on Amazon and reading lots of reviews I decided on this one.My first two orders perfectly fine, I was able to even use this thread for finer details without compromising the quality of the final product. I was so happy that I placed another order.Except that this time I was having a lot of trouble with the thread knotting up, unraveling, and fraying.I had several orders to finish up and deliver before Christmas and no time to wait for another order to be delivered. So I got online and went through reviews again to see if I had missed something, anything. And I am so glad I did because I had in fact missed the main thing, which was to use the appropriate size needle for the thickness of the thread. This is a T-70 which requires either a size 16/100 or an 18/110.I was using the 16/100, which worked for the first couple of cones I ordered, but oddly didn't work for the third time around. Upon switching to a size 18/110, the very same cone that was giving me so much trouble was working without any problems, no unraveling, no knotting up, no fraying. I was able to finish up all my orders and keep using the thread with no incidents whatsoever. This thread is a great value for your money. It is super strong, and there is no way you are able to break it using your hands. With that being said, if it gets knotted it will most likely break the needle before the thread breaks off. that's how strong it is.So if you are having a problem with fraying and knotting I would check your needle size to make sure it is appropriate. Just because you used the same size tread from another brand with a specific needle size does not mean that you will be able to use it with this thread as well.I have sewn several bags with this thread and they are SUPER strong.I will update this review if I have any problems in the future but in the meantime, I am ordering more of this thread in different colors.I am very happy with it and I do recommend it!

Not as described...
Although the description does not include the word "bonded," it suggests this is a heavy-duty Tex 70 thread like bonded poly. It is NOT. This appears to be embroidery thread. Absolutely is not what I'd use for denim, canvas, etc. The reason I'm giving it two stars is that it appears to be a decent quality embroidery thread. If you're looking for something to sew awnings, upholstery, etc. you need "bonded polyester."

Nothing but problems with this thread...
I bought two types/colors of thread for an outdoor upholstery project. The Coats and Clark tan thread I purchased first worked perfectly, no issues. I ordered this thread later as I also needed white and the shipping/delivery on this thread was much faster. But this Selric thread kept knotting up, unravelling, and fraying. It took me three times as long and much rework to sew the items with this white thread. Frustrating!

Great for cosplay
I used this to build a mascot costume and it worked wonders. Usually my seams break but I read that upholstery thread is great for heavy duty costumes and this stuff really works. It did have a little trouble going through my sewing machine but only after about a week of using it. It gathered up lint really quickly and was difficult to clear out. Definitely not a deal breaker though. I've actually built two costumes so far and I still have a ton of thread left. Only used white so far.

Be careful using thread
Thread frays a lot, had to constantly cut the ends to remove the frayed parts and rethread it through my machine. I have used other threads of the same kind and never had fraying problems.

The "brown" is not brown, it is actually a copper color.
The Brown color is actually copper. It's the same color as copper wire. In the photo, the left (lighter) color thread is the one I am reviewing. It is on top of the vinyl fabric that I was going to use it on (which is actually brown). It does not match my brown fabric at all. Please change the color name to copper, as that is what it is. In the photo, I am showing a previously purchased chocolate brown color on the right. I wanted a medium brown color thread for this project, but I will have to keep looking.

Good colours
Looks good but the spool looks considerably smaller than the other 1500yard #69 threads I bought from another Supplier! The other plastic spools are all the same shape as this one, yet the quantity of thread is considerably more, not sure why..the thread itself looks just as thick as the other ones, so I wonder if it’s actually 15000yards or maybe just 1000?

Worked well with a traditional sewing machine
After I ordered this, I realized that I couldn't use it with my traditional sewing machine. I found a hack online. Just pop the spool in a mug, put a safety pin on the sewing machine's spool holder. Thread from the mug, up through the safety pin and then as normal. The weight was perfect. The thread ravels a little so it helps to use a threader to get it through the needle. The chairs have only been done for a couple of months (and have been outside) so I can't tell yet how they stand up to weather.

Nice stitches, yes it does unravel if you keep ...
Trying out thicker thread in my domestic (home) sewing machine (Janome HD 2000 aka 419s), it works! Nice stitches, yes it does unravel if you keep fiddling with the the thread. Since another reviewer mentioned this, I was OK with this fact. The colors are accurate and the thread seems strong. I've made a backpack with it, so time will tell how the the thread holds up! Happy Sewing!

Good Value
This was a test order, price was right. My single spool arrived quickly and it tested fine on my light industrial machine. I tend to work with heavier outdoor fabrics, canvas and leather. I was not disappointed .. will be ordering again. Colour selection is terrific.
