Has a very strong smell.
Absolutely stinks but I think it's supposed too, not one of the most pleasant of smells, to be honest I haven't tried it yet but I suspect it's the genuine stuff.

A bit disappointing
Opened the packet. sniffed. sniffed harder. Not much aroma. very small peppercorns (yes I know they are not peppercorns actually). Ground some. sniffed. sniffed harder. Still not much aroma. Sprinkled some on food. Did not get much flavour from it. Compared with the Szechuan peppers from Peppermongers, now alas only available as part of a gift pack, these barely come up to scratch. Overpriced.
