Better than expected and nice and wide
I have wide feet... not your typical "oh I have wide feet" but wider LOL. Shoes are hard. These are amazing! They are a little "full" as far as the tongue goes, but these are so comfortable I could easily wear them every day, not just for hiking. (9.5 Wide)

Love these hiking shoes!
Great fit and comfort… Barely needed any breaking in at all… Super comfortable, really good gripping power… This is my second pair as I had put probably 1000 miles on my first pair….

Wow! Very comfortable!
I ordered these because winter is coming and my old Merrell shoes are no longer “dry”; my husband and I do trail riding with a 4x4 group and I needed something other than my hiking boots to keep my feet dry.I’ve been wearing these around the house and outside since I received them. They are very supportive and comfortable. I have a low arch and have suffered with plantar fasciitis on occasion, so support, a good fit, and comfort is a huge deal for me. Recommended for outdoor sports - not terribly slim looking or sexy at all, but they are built to get the job done.

excellent shoe but fits short and narrow
I bought a pair of these in person years ago and loved them. The waterproofing is a nice feature for wet days, they’re comfortable, have excellent traction, and are long lasting. My treads finally wore out after 4 years of a lot of walking and I replaced them with a lesser quality hiking shoe. Big mistake because I had hot spots and blisters daily. I decided it was worth the cost to get another pair of Merrells. I could only remember that the store didn’t have my normal size the first time so I think I either bought up a half size or got a wide vs medium width. I did my best to read the worn tag inside the old shoe, but the new shoes I ordered definitely are not the same size as what I am 90% sure the old-shoe tag says. I exchanged for a half size larger which helped the length but then later decided they’re also too narrow in the toe box. I guess the old ones were wide width after all. I was a long outdoor wear into them before I realized it kinda makes my toes and ball of foot go numb as I’m walking. I don‘t love the fit and would exchange them again if I could. Next time I’ll just go in a store to try some on.

I LOVE MY MERRELLS!
These shoes were comfortable from the first time I put them on! I have never owned shoes like this, but we were going on vacation where we would be doing some hiking on uneven terrain and likely wet conditions. They are stiffer and heavier than my sneakers - but that did not make them difficult to walk in or fatigue me. I appreciated the stiffness and the gripping soles on the rocky wet trails and felt much more confident and in control than I have when I've walked on even easier trails with my sneakers.

Nice non slip bottom
Got these for an Alaskan cruise and they worked great for the wet conditions I was walking in. Fit to size. Feet stayed dried and non slip bottoms were great! I am 60 and did not want to risk falling in the wet conditions!

"Wide" sizes not for women's feet that actually are wide
TL;DR: The drizzle/mint color combo is very attractive, and the shoes seemed like they would be very durable and supportive. But none of the three sizes I tried fit my feet comfortably. The whole story: I'll readily admit that I have wide feet. I've been wearing Skechers size 8 wide in a variety of their styles over the last ten years, but I wanted something more sturdy for hiking. I thought I'd give these Merrells a try because they're pretty highly rated. Based on the reviews, I ordered these in both an 8 wide and an 8.5 wide. The 8 wide were so small that I could barely get my foot inside them. I was able to get my feet inside the 8.5 wide more easily, but they were still tight enough that I knew I wouldn't be able to wear them for long lengths of time or long distances. I didn't want to give up, so I decided to try a size 9 wide too. Those fit the best across the widest part of my feet, but they were too long, they slipped on my heels, and the arch support hit my right foot in an odd place that was uncomfortable. So, sadly, I have to return all three pairs.

Recomendables
