Gotta Like It!
This is a very nice tool, and more than worth spending a couple bucks more than some others. It's the sort of thing where it just 'feels good' and you know it's high quality. It arrived safely packed tightly in bubble wrap. The 'Flexible' designation could be confusing. It has a little 'give' to it, but not much. It's basically pretty stiff.

nice tool
Well made tool. Feels good in hand. “Hammer end” delivers fairly effective blow. Right amount of flex for glazing andputty-ing windows

Works great
Your probably going to wanna read this twice. I use it as an eating utensil for my cast iron skillet. I'm a bachelor (SURPRISE!) and I cook a lot of my meals in my skillet and it becomes my plate too when put on a small, wooden cutting board. A chrome putty knife makes a great eating utensil. My old putty knife was okay but this new chrome one with the rubber like handle is like using the "good" silverware.

... they sold these in stores but hands down- my favorite model of this brand of Putty Knives
Wish they sold these in stores but hands down- my favorite model of this brand of Putty Knives. They work great, and even hold up well under use of other people when they are using that massively corrosive Jasco to strip paint and not be careful about where they touch your tools. The Jasco didn't damage the rubber grips to any noticeable extent and they clean off under water really well.I would recommend buying a second set depending on your usage. If you use one for a scraping/stripping/bondo kind of work, and you also do drywall work, I would suggest a second set just for drywall to keep it in the best condition possible. The stripping, scraping and bondo can take a lot of work and scraping clean with razor blades to give you a good enough edge for drywall plastering. In a world of tool manufacturers getting cheaper and cheaper with throw-away tools, these putty knives I can easily see lasting me a few more decades, if not the rest of my life. Thank you Hyde!

Highly recommend this tool and the Hyde brand.
It is getting really hard to find good tools, even putty knives, at the local big box stores. While doing some major remodeling I wanted to replace some of my old knives, and the only requirement was for them to be good quality and stainless steel. I couldn't find either until I saw this. Hyde has always had a good reputation and they have really made a first rate knife with this one. It is flexible enough to give you control, but not so much that it removes what you have already applied. Being stainless steel means you don't have any more worries with the rust that always manages to break out on the blued steel, no matter how much you try to dry them off. Do yourself a favor and just purchase a good tool like this once. You'll be glad you did in the end.

uncompromising gem
This is the best tool I’ve found for filling nail holes, glazing, and spackling touch ups. Material slides easily off stainless steel for smooth finish. The business end is beveled rather than chopped, which helps smoothing a great deal. And of course rust is a non-issue - I don’t have to sand the rust off before every use!I’ve thrown away three other putty knives since this arrived. The old ones are wholly inadequate and unused since this gem arrived.

Still shiny and clean!
Has not stained at all yet and I have used it with hot mud and the pre made joint compound. I don't clean mine at all with water. I scrape it good with another knife and sand with fine sand paper. I bent the end of this one and rounded the corners a bit so I could use it to scoop joint compound with. It has been in contact with compound quite a bit since I leave it in the cup with the compound. Other knives I have used corroded very quickly using them this way.

Worth the extra expense to get a stainless blade!
I got tired of having to clean off the rust on my putty knives and find the Hyde stainless to be high quality knives. I have no idea why they put a hammer head on a flexible knife - you'd be well advised not to take a hammer to a knife that will flex when hit (they make a scaper version of this knife and that one can take a good knock and be none the worse for the wear).
