Guitarra Exotica

This is great Nuevo Flamenco from Jim Stubblefield, who continues to travel all over the county with the band "Incendio." All that playing over the last several years, in all kinds of live situations, has finely tuned his focus and timing. Although he can perform the crazy speed and percussive "athletics" that flamenco fans love, his focus is on beauty and grace. Simply put this collection is like ear candy, and aptly named "Guitarra Exotica." It contains the track, "One Quiet Night," which is one of the finest Nuevo Flamenco tracks I have ever heard. You know, the one you play over and over again because you can't get enough. Like musical exotica.

...I have been introduced to Jim Steubblefield's music. This album is packed with great tracks that I have enjoyed over the last several months and have finally picked up the entire album.

Some of the music is great guitar work in a true flamenco style, somewhat modified. These represent decent listening. Other pieces are a strange mix of free-style sounds with little musical rhythm.

I stumbled upon Stubblefield's music through Pandora while listening to Rodrigo Y Gabriela. I was hooked. This is the first CD I have bought in 10 years, and i've been listening to it non stop for around 6 months. Like nothing else I have ever heard.

You will not be disappointed! If you like happy music on a rainy day, believe me when I tell you, this is for you.
