Enjoyed the twists and turns of the story. Well written descriptions that make you feel the island with the right amount of details.

The story was good, the characters were real. But it dragged on too much with too many internal dialogue. The basic story line was good.

Great story, kept me engaged the entire time. The storyline never got dull and every time I had to put it down all I could think about was the story, and how soon I could get back to it. I’m on to the next one with baited breathe!

This book is great! Enjoyed this thoroughly. I am assuming there is a sequel.I will definitely read it right away.

This is the book that made me an Elin Hilderbrand fan.Loved everything about it!I didn't even mind the cliffhanger, which is VERY unusual for me.Highly recommended!

I enjoy reading EH books. They're what I consider fun "beach reads". The first half was easy to pick up and put down. Second half kept me reading..As I got toward the end, I kept thinking that there weren't enough pages left to resolve and answer questions, then bam! It was over. I feel like any novel that is part of a series should be able to stand alone. This was very disappointing. I hope Ms H. Reads the reviews and takes them to heart. We are not stupid. This is a marketing experiment to see if it will guarentee continuous purchases so we can see what happens. Not a good marketing plan. So we got a Partial book. Aside from that, there are typos (read the dedication!) Also, just when you like Ayers, she does some really odd things. One minute shes not sure about accepting a date with a guy shes known 5 minutes, then shes ready to screw his brains out on the beach. I'm no prude but the character does things that dont really match up with the character. Plus, not one but two guys grovelingly in love with her at first sight?come on...everybody seems to forget about the plot, which is supposed to be the dad. Lots of missed opportunity here for a real thriller.

Great book! Immediately starting the next one. Very expertly written to weave a tale. Cannot wait to read on to find out what happens

XThis was a record reading for me. Couldnt put it down. I so wish sometimes books came with pictures. I enjoyed google mapping to find the spot of house, and the beaches and places mentioned.

Can't wait for the next one as this one leaves us with several unsanswered questions!

After listening to this book on my daily commute with I knew the audiobook version would be enjoyed by other family members and they all loved this intelligently spun story. Elin Hilderbrand writes witty enough to entertain after a long day at work without my mind starting to wander and lose the thread - perfect!

This book was amazing from page 1. It started off on New Year’s Day in cold Iowa and transported us to St Johns and glorious sunshine!! I was worried I wouldn’t like this book as it wasn’t set in Nantucket but I loved this book! It has all the captivating amazing details that Elin writes with!! It has descriptions of her loving characters and their struggles and how they try to deal with them!! Food features as well which is always good! Elin loves writing about food and I love reading about it! The main character Irene I loved, she is a strong woman with an ideal life which crumbles around her when her husband dies and she discovers his secret life. Ayers was my fav character, whose best friend also dies, Irene has 2 sons and I really liked Baker who has a lot of problems to deal with in this book, I felt a bit sorry for him in the end. My only problem is I finished the book in a day and now I have to wait a year for the next instalment!!!

I found this so interesting and unique! The storyline was so different from anything I’ve ever read. I loved how it took place on an island. I found all the perspectives interesting and I loved finding out what was going to happen next. I liked how there was two brothers involved because I always find books with siblings interesting! There was never a dull moment and I loved the atmosphere! The ending was a shock and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
