Like snug, up against his body
I bought this jacket for my son and he is small for a 15 year old boy. We ordered the men's medium and it just fits him. Like snug, up against his body, just fits him. He says he really likes it and wears it all the time. But we really could have went with the men's large and he would have a little room to grow in it or to be able to wear something other than a thin t-shirt under it.
