Outstanding Light - Big and Powerful
"Outstanding Light - Big and Powerful" is a pretty accurate description of this light. It weighs in at around 10 pounds and feels like carrying a small car battery around. That said, it is a really great light made by a US company with a proven record of producing quality products, which will hopefully equate to many years of trouble free service. I have the smaller 600 lumen LED Lightbox and this light is massively brighter. When switching between the lights at night it is almost comical how much brighter in actuality 3600 lumens is than 600 lumens. The 600 lumen light is bright and great for general purpose work use but the new light, capable of 3600, 2400 or 1200 lumens, is a professional tool of a higher level. At 3600 lumens it appears as approximately as bright as one of my HID SUV high beam headlights. I never bothered with the shoulder strap for my smaller Lightbox but I did attach it to this new light in case I have to carry it any significant distance - did I mention it is big? Not sure what else to write, other than the light works well and is up to Streamlight's usual build quality. Also, I bought this light through Amazon via Optics Planet for about half MSRP! Check around on price since this a new product and prices vary significantly. Just make sure you get the package with the accessories you want, not just the light, as the owners manual warns against using the chargers from other smaller lights. As far as I could tell, the various model numbers for this light only relate to accessory packages or the color of the light, as it comes in yellow or orange.Update: June 2023 - I bought this light back in 2014 and have used it a few times, where it performed as expected. Over the last decade, I sort of forgot about it as it was plugged in behind a door waiting to be needed. Since I’ve got other smaller options, it just wasn’t something I thought about. So, 9 years later, I noticed the light and dusted it off and turned it on. It worked perfectly and was just as bright and powerful as almost a decade before. I figure almost a decade is a pretty big ask of a lead acid battery, so I figured I’d swap the battery for a new one. The battery that came in this light was a Panasonic LC-R127R2P1, 7.2Ah, 5.9 L x 2.5 W x 3.7 H, 3.9 H, with 250 Faston Terminals. The Panasonic battery is no longer made so, after much research, I went with a Yuasa (Enersys) Genesis NP7-12T - 12 Volt/7 Ah battery with the .250 Faston connectors. This battery was as close as I could find to the Panasonic in a brand-name battery and works just fine. I really wanted to try a Lithium Ion battery to gain Ah and save weight but research showed possible incompatibility with the Streamlight charger. Hope I get 9 more years out of this battery!

Incredible light
Pros: probably the brightest hand held battery operated light I’ve seen. Very durable and charges quickly. Cons: very heavy

Bright duration durable light - dependable
Bight impressive light lasting a long time essential as an emergency worker illuminating within dark areas. Name brand proven to be sturdy durable with awesome warranty. Not cheap yet worth every penny. Has different settings for lighting vs duration

This is a large and heavy beast but built like a battleship
This is a big, heavy beast, but built like a battleship. It has more of a flood/work pattern to the beam and on my rural property it's great to scan for bears or coyotes at night when the dog goes out. However, this is not a light weight device.I like the battery life and the fact that this is meant to be stood up and used as a work light. This is more of a battery powered area/work light than a flashlight.

Super powerful and high quality
This is a major light to say the least, Super powerful and high quality. Im a cinematographer and actually have a set of five of these. I use them to light film sets. They cost a fraction of the price of lights marketed for filming.

Looks like another example of using cheap Asian parts and then ...
Paid a lot of money for this light and it failed to operate on AC power after less than one hour of use. This occurred less than 20 days after I received it and it would have occurred even sooner if I had operated in that mode earlier. Streamlight told me it was most likely the PCB and that I had to send it to them for repair. I requested the shipper to send me a new one and a shipping label to return the old one. They did not agree. Amazon did not help either. So I get stuck dealing with a manufacturers defective product. You pay this much money for a flashlight and I expect it to perform accordingly. Looks like another example of using cheap Asian parts and then letting the consumer find the quality defects. Only good thing is that I was not using it under an emergency situation for which Streamlight would like you to believe it is well suited. So buyer beware

CAUTION- Be sure to test. Edited review and thanks to Streamlight.
I bought the 45661, charged it up fully, checked to see that the light operated and then put it away. Last week we had a power failure and I had the opportunity to save the day, and I was sure that this thing would be ready for duty. Wrong. This light would turn itself off after only two minutes. Later, when I had the opportunity, I fully charged it up using the cradle (thinking that that was perhaps the answer). This time it worked- for ten minutes. Then it went dark. Charge it up fully- again it only lasted only a few minutes. Tested yet another time: fail. This is a Mission Critical piece of equipment and my copy is Junk. What a waste of money. So disappointed. ALSO: disappointed in myself. I should have given this tool a proper inspection when I received it. Simply turning it on and off is NOT a test. Leave it on and see how long it stays on- you may need to KNOW the answer. Buyer beware!Update: 12/17/19I sent this unit back to Streamlight at my own expense ($60) and it was returned to me yesterday. It is the same unit I sent to them, so it is not a replacement. I charged it up for 24 hours and began testing it. The same problem persists- the light shuts itself off after a few minutes. I can go switch it off and then back on, and it will work again, but then it will shut itself off again after a short time. This negative review remains unchanged- NOT recommended.Update: 1/28/2020Streamlight contacted me and asked me to send my Litebox to them again, but this time they sent me a pre-paid shipping label. Five weeks after sending it back again, my replacement arrived. This was a new unit, not the same one I had before. Charged this one up fully and tested it a few times. It lasted between 1.5 hours and 2 hours while set to High Output. This is within spec. How long did it stay lit set at Low Output? I'm glad you asked: just under 10 hours. Thanks Streamlight for making good on this. And, to everybody- be double sure to test your gear!
