Pretty amazing for survival food
Has a ton for saturated fat and added sugar but hey, this is emergency food and it actually tastes… good dare I say. As far as long shelf life emergency bars, I don’t think you can do any better. No supert healthy per se but also not intended for long term consumption. These are meant to to keep you alive. They aren’t snacks.

These taste great and are filling
Ordered the 6-pack to try these out: I love them! They do have a high sugar content (duh they are ENERGY bars) which would be needed in a stressful/emergency situation.I tried the orange bar but could not finish it. It was filling and the sugar buzz hit me quick. I was not really hungry when I tried it, but I definitely loved the flavor. It felt like a treat versus the "must...maintain my...strength..." forced eating session that RATIONS can have. They are vacuum sealed which is a huge benefit. It will preserve the item for years and makes it harder to crumble the item when it is in storage. 32 grams of sugar is Coca Cola sugar levels. If you cannot tolerate that much sugar do not buy these. I have to stress that I buy these knowing they have mucho sugar. They are going to be used by my family for emergencies/when stuck somewhere for several hours with no other food available. To me, they are more of a treat than only being used in an emergency. I keep using the word emergency, but many people use these as a quick shot of energy when out back packing, bike riding, hiking. They fill a need for energy when cooking is not an option. If you want more nutrients and less sugar, buy emergency rations. They taste like sawdust but they are better nutritionally and also last for years stored in non-optimal (trunk of car) conditions. You want better taste and a somewhat normal eating experience, buy freeze dried. Out for the day and have heating options? Buy freeze dried or canned goods and heat them up. Getting hungry and tired and you are still 3 miles from trail end/your car, buy these.I came back here to order more and decided to do this review.

Great product!!!
These bars will function great in an emergency situation as a substitute for food. Taste wise they are not much but they don't taste bad either, it's a survival bar, not a gourmet bar, I believe you wold have no problem getting children to eat these if needed. They don't make you thirsty and and are excellently packaged (vacuumed sealed in foil) and I would guess that they would last longer than the 5 year shelf life if stored in a cool, dry, dark area. I store mine in old sealed naval powder canisters in my basement rafters. I tried the tropical fruit flavored one because that flavor seemed the most unappealing to me but still found it no problem to eat, it reminded me of compressed sugar free fruit cake, a bit crumbly but easily contained if you just rip off the top of the wrapper and break into pieces as you eat. I had eaten all day and ate one at 2 pm and had no desire to eat dinner, the expand in your stomach, so don't eat 4 in row and drink a liter of soda, you will feel ill. Two a day should be fine for most survival situations with water. These are also nice because you don't have to open three days worth of food for one meal like with other survival food bars.

Good for an emergency
Overall I'd say these bars do what they set out for which is to give you quick absorption calories in a pinch which means energy for you to keep going in an emergency overall the flavors are acceptable but I wouldn't be picky about it honestly but the only complaint if I honestly have is the worst tasting flavor in the batch is the orange flavored bar but that's honestly because I've never been a fan of oranges but as i said i wouldn't be picky about it still its just a personal preference in flavor aside from that the best way i could describe how they taste was like a very dense sweet shortbread cookie bar that's slightly granular and crumbly with more of the essence of its intended flavors. overall I'd give a 5/5 for the product being shipped to me without issues and no punctured packages. Honestly if i had to give a recommendation for these I'd say ask yourself if you need something with a 5 year shelf life roughly, what application would you need it for and would you be fine with a more accessible option (stuff you'd find at your grocery stores and more commercially available products) cause they may suit your needs better.

Very good. As a new driver in winter I'm terrifyed I'm gonna get stuck out in the middle of nowhere overnight, so IV been building a survival bag, sleeping bag, water, first aid kit, mini stove, flash light , tire kit, small tools xcetera. I needed food that wouldn't go bad with the varying temps in the car or trunck so IV been collecting and trying different ' emergency foods'. so far this is my favorite. They come in more flavors than coconut ( which I hate) or chocolate. They are individually wrapped which makes only carrying only two or three so much easier and way easier to eat as it's more like a granola bar than the 'survival' block Style. And invidual means you can eat only one and not have the rest go bad if you don't need them which saves money from having to replace them. This particular one is also a better deal as you get more 'blocks' for the same price as the 6 cube style ones. It's basically a vacuum sealed cookie/granola bar. A little crumble but not like OMG this is more crumble than food, and the package is definitely not something a child could open but doable with a little patience or maybe a small knife :p also these are lot softer to bit into than some of the others iv tried.
