Bought for learning, kept reading for fun.
This thing is freakin' sweet! I'm a student of the medical laboratory, and general textbooks on diagnostic microbiology only touch on parasitology. Which is regrettable, because there is such a vibrant world of tiny things that might kill us. Unlike my sleep-inducing textbook of medically significant mycoses, once I picked this up I found myself reading further for giggles.Passages are concise without being long-winded and understandable without being overly simple. Photos are large, crisp and idealized (as opposed to fuzzy, nondescript images the sidebar insists is relevant). If you're thinking I'm fudged in the head for enjoying a parasitology text, I'd suggest This Is Your Brain on Parasites. Stories that ground learning in the real world and frame it in practical ways always helps propel me forward. That book I just mentioned was the precursor that led me to this much larger and meatier one here.

Interesting book
This book is pretty excellent. I only wish the life cycles of the parasites were shown as they were being explained.
