The Art of War (Pocket Edition) (Shambhala Pocket Classics)

This book is maybe 3"x4"-- it's absolutely tiny and even with small hands, it's a nightmare-- good luck taking notes in the margins. The copies I received were also bound incorrectly, so the covers were upside down. I didn't notice it in the description but on page "ix"/9 it says it's an "abridgement of the Shambhala Dragon Edition of the same title... contains the complete text of Sun Tzu, in bold face, and selected commentaries." So what is it?! Abridged or unabridged with additional commentary?! I wish I could give this -10 stars for plain awful.

The book is a classic. If you take the time to study and ponder the lessons contained within, they can take you far in life. I have numerous copies of this book, but I wanted a small portable version to keep in my pack along with my small KJV Bible and my Saddleback copy of the Constitution.This is perfect.I highly recommendThanks for reading

EXTREMELY SMALL AND ABRIDGED. This book is barely over 3”x 4”. About the size of a deck of cards and about 1/4 in thick or so. Might be ok for some people but not me. It was advertised as a pocket version but I didn’t see anything about it being abridged.

Was not pleased by the physical size, way too small (for me)!Pocket book can fit easily in a shirt pocket!Not what I was expecting....

This version is hard to read. Each entry is followed by multiple interpretations and translations. The intent is to give the reader a broader interpretation of the meaning of each statement, but I found it confusing and not what I was looking for; which was something that I would enjoy reading front to back, and make my own interpretations on.

Buy extra in case you need to distribute copies to poor leadership during the COVID-19 crisis. The principles discussed are also applicable inwardly for an enlightening/self-awareness effect.I had a previous pocket edition that had SunTzu's words in boldface red print and the paper seemed thicker---I guess Shambala started cutting back on quality for the Corona apocaylpse. No matter. I bought three. Will transcribe if needed.

This book “the art of war” was advertised as a new hardcover book with dust jacket - what was received was a soft cover book. It’s possibly new but clearly it’s been around since the sides of the book are soiled. Totally readable and glad I have it but not worth the over $33 price.

I should have read more carefully. This is literally a pocket size book. But it turned out ok because it's convenient to carry. Satisfied with purchase.

Wasnt what i was looking for at first. The tiny version i mean, ended up with two and gave one to a loved one. worth having in my handbag at all times. Long trade ride have a little read. lightweight.

An amazing book for someone new to strategy. Very transferable skills and is THE book to refer to if you need strategic guidance.
