I tried different placements for the birdfeeder, one in the terrace, one in the garden, some in a little bowl, but this is the spot they like. These guys, the spotted munias are regulars now, none of the other birds are interested in this , the magpie robins, the bulbuls , the mynas, they give it a miss, but these little guys, they just love it.

So initially Sparrows were only eating the roti I used to out and not this at all, then I went away for a day and returned to see them munching on this food mix.. this is perfect.. they take time to get used to but then they do visit a lot and know exactly where to go. (They get it out on floor and then eat few grains after taking them out of husk, so it can be a messy floor at times)

I have been feeding sparrows on my window sill for some time now. I used uncooked rice and then wondered if I could get something tailor made for them. I did have the occasional pigeon also trying to look for a bite but buying this feed changed that. The pigeons became almost aggressively eager for this and usually ate up whatever was left out for the sparrows. There are some grains in the mix that the sparrows cannot eat and that they leave behind on the feeding tray. I am not sure how this is ideal for sparrows when it contains food that they cannot eat and seems to be more to the liking of pigeons, which if allowed would clean it all up. I am disappointed. Although I must note that the order was delivered before time and very well packaged. But I will not be buying this again.

Birds in the vicinity love it. A squirrel likes it a lot as well
