As a fighter this is one of the best shields I’ve used
I’m seeing tons of people saying this shield is too hard. Nooooooooo it’s not this is the PERFECT pad to abuse. Me and my partners race to get this shield before anyone else, love this thing!!!

This was for my son (19 years old). Once he saw it, he thought it was too hard for how he wanted to use it. So, we returned it. We are still awaiting our refund (less S&H)

Sturdy kick pad allows for more dynamic workouts!
My husband loves this pad!Well, I love it too.We both enjoy to work out and having the pad around lets us get in a few more kicks and punches than we were able to before. Both of us lean towards HIIT methods of working out with separate cardio thrown in, so this is a good way for us to mix up our favored workouts. And take some aggression out. That is a nice bonus, too!The pads are dense, and unlike other reviewers who say they are harder than concrete, I find them quite appropriate for the intended use. You can unzip them and see what is inside and change it (if you want to do that for some odd reason). 5 straps allow you to hold them in various positions, or you could just prop them against something and hope for the best (not recommended!!).

For Muay Thai: Best for beginners, smaller peeps...solid for teaching proper leg kick technique. Others, go bigger.
Based on reviews, no doubt other reviewers use these shields different than Muay Thai peeps. For us kick happy folks, kick shields are great for teaching transitions between kicks, body shots, knees and related combo happiness. For the Combat Sports curved kick shield, handles are big enough for a good grip...but not TOO big that they can't be easily manipulated to quickly move the pad across locations.Like most curved kick shields, the Combat Sports one is excellent for training outside leg kicks, as they rest nicely against holder outside thigh (remember to NOT hold against the knee) and provide a perfect curved surface for striking. You can really sink a kick into one of these bad boys. For those who consider this pad hard...may they never discover Thai pads. In comparison, I found this kick shield fairly soft, with a great deal of power transferred to the holder. Too much to my liking (I send the better half flying). Thus, pad holders should consider these conditioning; getting hit while holding these are no picnic. This is not bragging, rather reality. Experienced strikers can seriously injure inexperienced\smaller kick shield holders if s/he isn't used to dispersing power. For beginners/intermediate/smaller peeps, however, the Combat Sports Curved Kick Shield is a solid offering. It's durable, big enough to provide a solid target, and will not hurt the striker from a slightly missed kick. These would be awesome at kids MMA classes, for example. If you're a bit more advanced and/or bigger, take the more expensive leap into heavier universal, all leather squarish strike shields. I'm a Twins Special guy, but Amazon is lacking. An alternative: Hayabusa Pro Training Series Kick Shield . The better variety will also last a great deal longer.

Great tool for training
This is a great, small kick shield. It's very light, but extremely dense foam. Very important to disperse the energy of kicks. I have other kicking shields which are less dense, but deliver a lot of the force through the pad. This shield has padded straps for extra comfort - nice for the person holding. The five straps allow the pad to be held in various positions - important for different types of kicks.A good shield is an important tool in combat sports or self-defense training. I think the quality is great and I'll expect this to hold up for a long time.

Quality product
Nice and solid. My teenager kicks pretty hard and this shields me nicely from getting kicked. My younger child loved it for practicing a spinning back kick. I believe it will last for years to come.

Very quick delivery. Haven't tried it much yet. Foam is pretty stiff. Stitching and build seems to be good quality. Mainly got it so my kids can kick and punch the pad instead of my balls. Has withstood them using it as a stool all day today.

Solid value, could use some finer detailing
Received the kicking shield today and gave it a couple hours of work with my training partner. The shield is hard, and that's a good point since it can absorb more impact and will take some time to break in, thus lasting longer. The material and stitching is high-quality and provides solid value relative to the price. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase at $75 CAD.I have three problems with this product:1 - There is no grip at the top of the shield (I should have paid closer attention). The implication is that the shield bounces quite a bit with sharp kicks and is tougher on the wrists based on how you have to grip it.2 - The claimed product dimensions are 20.3 x 43.2 x 61 cm, or 8 x 17 x 24 in. When I measure it out (generously), it's actually 12 x 36 x 57.5 cm, or 5 x 14 x 23. This means it is 3 inches less on thickness and width, and 1 inch shorter in height.3 - The print job was rather poorly done (blurry lettering and smudged printing like fresh ink that's rubbed), making it appear to be a lower quality product than it is. This doesn't affect performance so it isn't a big deal, but it speaks to a certain level of poor attention to detail on the manufacturer's part.
