40 Foot Competitive Batting Cages for Backyard or Indoor Baseball and Softball Collapsible Black Frame and Net

Right off the bat (pardon the pun), I did NOT want to spend this much money. But, the more I looked the more clear the decision became. Most other options rely on glorified tent poles and tie outs. This frame is all metal, interconnected, no need for guide wires, etc. Installation was straightforward and easy. I did it by myself but a second pair of hands wouldn’t hurt. As long as the metal lasts without rusting out (no issues after about a year), I will be completely satisfied. You can either go cheap and hope it lasts a season, or take the plunge and buy this one. If you have a kid serious about baseball, and anticipate multiple seasons of use, go this route.

I purchased this in 2019 -- yes, you pay more but it is QUALITY. I had blown thru cheaper cages -- this one has held up well...I'm in California so it has stayed up year-round and took my son thru HS ball and now college baseball. When received, I put it together myself...the structure is easy to assemble. I recommend this cage highly.

The quality of the cage is great. No complaints here. The net is even better than I expected. It's light weight but it's strong. I followed the directions of another reviewer and added cables and additional carabiners and bungee cords. Because of this, my net has a lot of tension on it but it's holding up fine. It's stronger than I expected. If you just set it up in your yard it's about 15 feet wide at the bottom. I squeezed the legs in to 12.5 feet wide and staked it down because that's the width I needed. It's not easily movable now but that is ok in my case. If I need to move it I still can. BTW I wish I had put up a batting cage years ago. Being able to take reps at live pitches daily has done wonders for my son's timing, contact rate and contact quality, as well my own. A bow net is no substitution for a cage.

Product arrived in 4 boxes. No damage and all of the parts were there. The instructions were easy to read and the cage went together with out a problem. It seems sturdy.

The media could not be loaded.  I’ve coached Pony, USSSA, and High School Ball. My 12 year old kept asking for a batting cage and I was ready to build one. I priced it out and I was about $700 in parts and net. My concern was it being stationary and it would impede my family from enjoying our back yard. After researching all cage makers, I decided to go with Skywalker Cages due to the fact that it can be broken down and put away, without removing the net. Assembly was easy and you will need a helper; my two boys assisted. My recommendation is to open all the boxes and organize all the parts. The instructions are on point and therefore we did not feel overwhelmed. Took us about 2 plus hours as we took our time and enjoyed the process. For the price, this is a great batting cage. Recommended; use the stakes to keep the net in place, buy a L-Screen and home plate and you are ready to go. I have uploaded video for reference. If you have questions, post them and I will answer. Bought this Monday, arrived thursday. Up and ready in an hour. Really easy to set up, just follow steps correctly. Basically just build the frame then clip on the net, done. I haven't seen exact dimensions but I believe it's 36 feet long. I would say ten wide and12 feet tall. Not sure but I bought for my 9 year old as the season has been postponed. He's so happy to be able to hit because we haven't been able to go to a park or really hit at all in 4 weeks. We are using a pitching machine. Probably set to 30-40. Maybe, but it's just long enough to comfortably use it. I love the fact that it is retractable, we can move out of the way in minutes. Overall, just wish it had a door in the netting, but oh well, for a complete frame and set, the quality it good, size is good. Also if you buy, buy some 36in bungee cords and some 6 inch ball bungee straps. Bungee cord the corners and Ball bungee the sides. The picture shows how it comes and it feels small unless you pull the net tighter

I bought this for my son to get a ton of extra batting practice without having to chase baseballs at the park. It took a couple of hours to set this up by myself, but would recommend a second person to help. The netting is very good quality (not commercial grade, but good for the amount of swings we take). What I love is that by simply removing the bars between each section you can retract the net from 40ft to between 5-10ft so you can mow the lawn or move out of the way. All together the cage weighs about 100 pounds. It is very sturdy and also includes 2 stakes for each leg for added stability from strong winds. I recommend getting an L screen and a vinyl backstop behind where the batter will stand to help protect the netting from wear and tear. This is definitely not a cheap investment, but I have been extremely satisfied to date. I like that Amazon allows for 0% interest financing if you want to spread out the payments.
