This is our 3rd Schlage keypad entry lock, and like the others, this lock is made with quality materials. The 2nd lock we bought was for our Airbnb house - identical to this lock, and after over 110 sets of Guests, only one person couldn't get in, and it wasn't the lock's fault; I gave them the wrong code. THIS is the way to secure your home! We travel a little and give a couple dependable people their own key code, and our daughter their key code, so people can check on the house, or come and visit. So much better than keys - and we've never had an issue with this particular lock. ONE THING: Schlage stopped providing a booklet with the instructions, which would be tough to memorize. Our Lock 2 & 3 were shipped with a large folded piece of paper. That is NOT at all functional - Lock 2's paper was discarded immediately, and we had to remove the lock in order to access the code behind it. PLEASE go back to the booklets; which are much more easy to use and maintain. This is disappointing and should cost a 1/2 star.

This is an un-motoroized lock, and as a result it is very reliable. I've had motorized versions and unless the bolt is perfectly aligned with the hole in the door jamb, the mechanism will eventually break. Blue illuminated keypad makes it easy to enter the code at night. This is the second of this model that I've owned (moved into a new house and changed the lock to this unit the first day).

Easy to install. Easy to use. Had high tech other lock before. Could never perfectly dial that one in and batteries would run low after just a couple of weeks.

My old front door lock broke, so I immediately purchased this lock because I didn't want to go without security at my front door. I thought this lock would behave like my previous lock with a battery powered bolt to lock and unlock, but this lock does not do that. Instead you punch in your security code and MANUALLY move the bolt. At first I thought this was a deal breaker, but I realized that it could be a better alternative because it would use less battery power and therefore have less lockout problems. Anyway, now I like the lock. The thumb turn, as Schlage calls it, is a nice smooth mechanism. However they need to include the operation guide, which I've learned they use to include in the box, because nowhere do the installation instructions tell you that the lock mechanism is a manual. And this omission caused a lot of headache for me.

Lock was brand new and perfectly working.

The lock we received had obviously been opened and returned by another customer and is not useable due to missing parts

This is junk. The mechanism isn’t doesn’t catch after you type the code. If you hit the device it becomes un-jammed and then it unlocks. This photo shows how often it gets stuck. Everyday. Don’t even waste your money on this one. After 6 months it stops working. Good luck on any warranty
