Like the design(yellow caps)
We have a 1/2 acre and get moles. Have used similar spikes like these in the ground with success but needed to buy more so went with this brand. The good: the Yellow caps are a great idea. Will make it MUCH easier to find in the green grass when batteries need to be replaced. The other brand I've bought and used over the years has green caps, so can be a real challenge to find in the grass. I'm sure my neighbors are amused when I'm out walking in circles with my head down. The bad(although not too bad) this brand holds just 3 "D" batteries(other brand uses 4) so it might seem like a savings BUT having the two brands in my yard these tend to run out of power vs the 4 battery version. Easy to replace though and this brand has a handy pop up "ring" to pull the battery tube out of the holder that stays in the ground.TIP! Any of these sonic devices will work their best when the ground is tight around them when you bury them. So they will work better in clay soil vs sandy or loose soil. Also, invest in a auger for a electric drill or a cordless one that has a 40amp battery to drill your hold in the ground. MUCH easier and saves a ton of time. You can get the drill here on Amazon like I did, but just be sure you buy one long enough to get entire mole chaser tube in the ground. As far as do they work? YES...they work great for me. I've tried the solar powered versions as well but they don't seem to send out a strong enough vibration to keep moles away nor do they stay charged enough to work 24/7 like these do. Plus, if you have shade in your yard they won't charge up to full capacity anyway. Stick with battery powered ones.UPDATE: One of the 4 quit working and thought it was batteries but isn't Email to company asking for a replacement has gone unanswered so far........

They don't work! A total waste of money!
I guess I'm a sucker but I actually thought these might work. They intermittently emit a high pitch buzzing sound that is suppose to irritate moles and drive them away to the neighbors yard. I bought 4 of these and they didn't seem to be doing anything. I still had lots of new mole trails in the same areas where I placed the stakes. So, like an idiot, I bought some more hoping that more buzzers would drive the moles away. Nope. In fact the buzzing sound seems to be attracting moles. I even waiting months to see if it was just a matter of time before the moles couldn't take the buzzing sound anymore and would finally move out. Nope, they don't work. I've placed them in directly in the mole trails they don't work. The moles even dig right up to them. Do not buy these, it's a total waste of money. I've exceeded the return time on my purchase so I'm now stuck with a bunch of useless random buzzers. Every time I go out in my yard the incessant buzzing sound reminds me of how much of a moron I am.

Doesn't work in sandy dirt
I can't really say I tested this properly. The instructions say directly that it won't work well in sandy soil. I can confirm that they are almost useless in my sandy soil. Haven't tested anywhere else so I can't comment on the product generally.TLDR don't buy for sandy soil

Very happy!
We've had moles in our yard for years and nothing we tried seemed to work or it didn't work for very long, however that's all changed with these spikes! We were very skeptical but a neighbor recommended them so we gave them a try...and I'm so happy we did. We put them in the ground and not even a week later the moles were gone!! We are still on the same batteries as when we installed them in the spring and they're still working great. HIGHLY recommend!!

My moles must be Immune to this
Just doesn't work. I have super highways from moles in my back yard. Thought this would reduce it but was highly mistaken. Product is well built but at least in my backyard with 6 placed all around, it has had no impact on the population at all. I does definitely grab guest's attention like a dog seeing a squirrel with a standard "WTH was that" reaction to hearing them.

They work
We were using poison and no way to know if they work, but we still had mole hills. switched to these mole spikes. Will occassionally have a mole for a day or two, but they leave. Hardest thing is to remember to check the operation (batteries). They also fail more often then I like, but they work.

Worked!
It worked for our problem in the backyard. Only issue is that it's annoying to hear the sounds ourselves. I feel like I am spending less time in my backyard now because of this device. Oh well. It works and haven't seen any new holes or activities.

The moles hang out around it!
After about a week the moles started popping up all around the spikes. I think they have gotten used to them and hold their family meetings there!
